Are we trying to make Romney as boring as possible?Of the choices, Gingrich seems most likely.

It wouldn't surprise me if Romney picked Mitch Daniels as vp.
Gingrich's time is gone. His best shot would've been when he was receiving well-deserved praise for his Contract with America a few administrations ago.
His star is long fallen.
Romney will pick Senator Rubio from Florida. He's young, conservative, good debater, and super smart. This would help him win the latino vote and Florida which Obama won by 2% over McCain.
Rubio has stated that he wouldn't accept the spot. I believe him. He just got to the Senate, let him get some experience before looking elsewhere.
sadly, i have to agree. we put a two-year senator into the executive last time around, and it doesn't seem to have worked out so well. Mind you, either way it's good for Rubio - 8 years as a Veep and he would make an excellent President; whereas if the ticket fails, he still has plenty of time to organize running again in Florida. In the meantime, conservatives would trust him, and he's one of the best communicators that the Republican field has.
If Romney becomes President and lets us down, Rubio would be in a good position to primary him in 2016. Him or Paul Ryan.
 *jaw hits floor*
They don't call Gingrich an "ideas guy" for nothing.
Of the picks you've put forward, I would say Cain would be the best bet for Romney to pick as VP
I think you're missing the point.
Of those VP choices, how many do you trust as a potential president?
After Christie gave his endorsement, I'm pretty much assuming it's Romney. Cain will likely get torn down somewhere in between now and the start of the primaries. So thus it's just a VP choice.
