Romney-Huntsman, but I don't think it will happen. Gingrich will probably be the one if Romney doesn't select someone not in the running for Prez. Personally, I couldn't vote for a ticket with Gingrich - he isn't trustworthy.

the only one running for president out of both parties I would consider trustworthy is Ron Paul. Disagree with him as I do, the man at least is consistent and obedient to the demands of his convictions.

Romney will pick Senator Rubio from Florida. He's young, conservative, good debater, and super smart. This would help him win the latino vote and Florida which Obama won by 2% over McCain.

What about Bobby Jindal? Or someone like that who's not charismatic enough for the top spot but sufficiently conservative to coax conservatives who are reluctant to vote for Romney. Another solidly right-wing, non-establishment Senator or Governor would work. If it's from the options above it'll probably be Cain. Fact is, Romney can't afford to lose too many GOP voters (who might stay home rather than choose between him and Obama). He'll have to pick someone not seen as being from the "establishment" (whatever that means) and who's not considered really moderate.

Not that it matters in the end, since the VP has next to no power... but we pretend they do during elections, so that's the way things are I guess.

Rubio has stated that he wouldn't accept the spot. I believe him. He just got to the Senate, let him get some experience before looking elsewhere.

I don't think Romney can win the nomination, due to his religion and his record.

However, if he does, the pick will be Rubio for two reasons:
1 - he'll badly need Florida to win the election, and
2 - without a Rubio-type, the Christian Right would probably stay home on election day (and they still might, necessitating #1 again). Bonus is that Rubio on-ticket might pick up some Hispanic votes (which otherwise trend Democratic).

And of course Rubio as veep would be the presumptive and strong subsequent presidential candidate.

And yes, if offered, he'll damn well take it.

It will be Romney & Rubio. Take it to the bank.

sadly, i have to agree. we put a two-year senator into the executive last time around, and it doesn't seem to have worked out so well. Mind you, either way it's good for Rubio - 8 years as a Veep and he would make an excellent President; whereas if the ticket fails, he still has plenty of time to organize running again in Florida. In the meantime, conservatives would trust him, and he's one of the best communicators that the Republican field has.

If Romney becomes President and lets us down, Rubio would be in a good position to primary him in 2016. Him or Paul Ryan.
