Semi auto, closed bolt.
The stock is unmovable, so it's technically a pistol.
The receiver should be new, since all the original ppsh's were smg's.

at one time several semi auto "pistols" (like the POS plastic intratech) were open bolt. th serial number was on the plastic and some of the earlier models were such that you could heat up the curly end of a straightened coat hanger, and burn of both the serial number and the secondary disconnector turning the pistol into an open bolt full auto machine pistol
I believed those Open bold tech 9's were later classified as requiring a class three tax stamp--much like the Street Sweeper revolver styled shotguns and those who bought them legally were forced to register them under the 1934 NFA
