    Re: Ammunition

I asked what it is about the round which causes someone to have a psychotic episode and go shoot a child in their house.

You said the rounds cause the crime. I'm asking how that is so. What does the round do to the person holding it?
To enact revenge on the child that stole the alcohol?

People do stupid **** because they're stupid. They do impulsive **** because they're impulsive. They assault and murder other people with carpenter's hammers if that's what is handy.... years ago a day-trader in Atlanta killed his wife and four coworkers with a hammer and a knife.

Are you asking these questions because you feel that YOU could not control your impulses if you had access to such weapons and/or ammo? I'm just asking.... I just have to wonder where you get the idea that having something means using it. Something in excess of 99.95% of lawfully owned firearms are never used in a crime.

Goshin, I think you know the answer to that question.

You act as if stealing from a neighbor's house is a small thing. It isn't.

Breaking into, or entering for unlawful purposes, and stealing, is called burglary. In many states (like mine) you can shoot a burglar dead no questions asked... including teenagers.

Just last week, locally, some dumbass 20yo who's been stealing **** out of yards and barns got shot in the leg, because he went into a house to steal and Mister was home. Local consensus is what a pity the shot wasn't fatal.

I don't consider 15-16yo's "children". Legally minors yes... but hardly the same as a 9yo. A 16yo SHOULD know damn well that stealing **** from other people's houses is a Bad Thing. If he doesn't, I personally think an assload of rock salt is a good way of reminding him, and that he ought to be damn glad it wasn't buckshot.

    Thieves suck.

I HAVE a 15yo. If he came home limping because someone had shot him with a "beanbag round", and I found out it was because he was STEALING from them, I'd probably thank the bloke for not killing him and then I'd beat the living dog**** out of my teenager myself for being a stupid ****ing thief.

fortunately I don't worry about this much as MY teenager was raised to understand that:
    1. Stealing is wrong
    2. Stealing around here will get your ass shot off.

If I knew I wouldn't ask. Having something doesn't automatically mean misusing it.

    A) Because shooting a child or beating a child teaches them anything.

You're damn right it does. Pain is one of the most effective ways of saying "dont do that again." I personally prefer reasoning with people, but if someone has lived 16 years on this Earth and not learned that stealing **** from someone's house is Big Bad Thing, then they probably need to suffer some pain to see to it the dumbass mother****er remembers next time.

Thieves suck. It isn't a prank, it isn't funny, it is THEFT.

And again, a 16yo may be a minor but not a "child". You make it sound like a teen stealing beer is a widdle four year old. He isn't.

I seriously suggest you take a long hard look at your life, if you seriously believe beating a child teaches them ANYTHING then I feel petty for your children and you yourself. If you would like books to read on this (which there are to many for me to list), please feel free to ask for that suggestion. In fact, I would say beating a child probably contributed to them stealing rather than them learning.

Cops (and you, if you are arming for general defense) should, I think, carry frangible (or some similar type) round as a standard load - with AP available in the car.
