Do you care about the NBA Lockout?

Former Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy is worried that nobody cares about the NBA lockout.“You know what I was thinking about … is how very few people care about the NBA lockout,” Van Gundy said on KILT in Houston this week. “You just don’t hear people talk. If it wasn’t on sports talk or ESPN… would anybody even know?
“You have to be careful if you’re both ownership and players—that you realize with the economy and so many other options with your disposable income—don’t think it will always stay like it has. It can go the other way. This is not football. Football has a stranglehold on America right now, NFL football, and rightfully so. It’s 16 games. If you’re a season-ticket holder it’s eight games, or 10 games with the preseason games, and it’s on the weekend.”

Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

Nope, couldn't care less. I just wish the Thrashers were here, then I would care, because I would want the NBA to lose the season. Have hockey be the only game in town for a good portion of the season. Oh well.

Jeff's an idiot. "Stranglehold" makes it sound as if the NFL makes people watch their games, when the truth is, football is a far superior sport. He's right about one thing, I couldn't give a **** if there's an NBA lockout.

I don't care if they never play basketball again, especially pro basketball. I think a lockout is fantastic.

How do you define "superior sport"? More popular?

People don't know or care now, but they will once the regular season starts ticking away and the impact it could potentially have on the economy.

Well, I would think the more interesting sport would be more the popular one.

Didn't know there was a lockout and don't care how long it last.
