Quick question, are any of the republican candidates conservative enough to suit you?

Right now i am seeing accusations of liberalism slung at all of them.

So far, they are all too "socially conservative" AKA haters.

Haters. That's from a mind that isn't bright enough to grasp what conservatism is. How much additional in taxes do you pay Pinko over and above the amount you are required? I thought so. ZERO. So now who is the hater?

Right now the front-runners are all a bunch of religious wingnuts. We need people who are actually conservative, not fundamentalist whackos.

Im a moderate republican who dislikes the teaparty and what they stand for as I view them...I dont think anyone can be far right enough for the teaparty...anything less than a far right nutjob is a rino to them...and they want NO COMPROMISE...

Honestly, I'm pretty uninspired. I don't trust Romney. I wanted to like Perry, but he was better on paper than in person. Bachman always sounds like she's speaking from old notes. Cain, though he supposedly won Florida's straw poll, is all over the place. Huntsman's slick, and I just can't watch him. Ron Paul's isn't wholly sane.

Knowing what Newt Gingrich was able to do as Speaker of the House and the Contract with America, I'd support him all day long if the media would give him half a chance with his personal life. He's always the most grounded with providing actual solutions to actual problems. I want to like Rick Santorum, but I don't know that much about him, yet. He seems awfully young.

So, inspired, not particularly - I might get there with Gingrich or Santorum. As far as being conservative enough? If they'd stand behind states rights, I think most of them are conservative enough for President. It's the House and Senate that need to be the most conservative with an emphasis on fiscal conservancy and state's rights.

NO. None of them are anywhere near Conservative enough to get MY vote, or the votes of the Conservatives that I know. They're not even close for the most part. Hell, at least one or two of them aren't even of the proper GENDER. One was the Governor of a LIBERAL state and moved that state further LEFT during his administration. None of them are capable of WALKING the TALK.

The point in my post is now made :)

Mitt Romney is no conservative. Anyone claiming he is a conservative either has no idea what the hell a conservative is or is lying their ass off.

Yes it is, and it was a very good point, lpast. Though I'm not a Tea Party supporter by any stretch of the imagination. THEY aren't far enough RIGHT for my personal tastes.

Huh? Who would pay more taxes than legally required? That's idiotic!

Carry on.

That's really unfair...unless your definition of "fundamentalist whackos" and "religious wingnuts" is "anybody who attends church/synagogue/mosque/holds a religious belief at all.

And I don't think that many Americans are going to agree with you that all the frontrunners are "whackos" and "wingnuts," even if they don't like them or their viewpoints.

If you dilike what the Teaparty stands for then you dislike individual freedom, the Constitution, small government and fiscal responsibility.

Rick Perry called for Texans to pray for rain. Michelle Bachmann is openly fundamentalist Christian. Both wear their religion on their sleeves and acknowledge that their religious views have a profound impact on their political career. Both are religious whackos.

Doesn't matter if anyone agrees, it's called an opinion for a reason.

If that's all they stood for, fine, but we both know it isn't and it's all the really idiotic other things they stand for that most people dislike.

Well you should so the teaparty can get another tax cut...only fair yanno :lamo:lamo

"We" don't know any such thing. What do "most" people dislike? Speak up don't insinuate.

The problem is that the Tea Partiers are either unwilling or unable to actually bring those concepts about in their own ACTIONS. Where is the LEGISLATION to defund the Dept. of Education? Where is the LEGISLATION to do away with MANY of the current Federal Gun Laws? Where is the WALK for all the TALK?

This makes me wonder what the "conservative platform" really is. I've spent eight minutes writing and re-writing this post, and I honestly can't find one position universally espoused by conservatives. So what is it you want a conservative president to do?

Your disappointed because you have the teapartys agenda all wrong...they are not about deficit reduction thats a talking point...they are not about smaller govt thats an end to reach their means....they are all about tax reduction for the rich and their donors corporations....

Where is the legislation to stop illegal immigration at the border.
Where is their legislation to stop 400,000 illegal immigrant babies being born on our dime and instantly citizens.
Where is the legislation to stop all foriegn aid to our enemies
Where is the legislation to stop subsidies for OUR RICHEST corporations..

The teaparty is full of chit....and thats why I am totally against them

People pray during catastrophes such as droughts and floods all the time and across the country. Rick Perry wasn't praying any differently than other folks who pray, at least not in my experience.

Perry has suggested looking to supernatural signs for guidance on how to govern. Ron Paul publicly disputes the scientific method and the findings of evolution. Michelle Bachman thinks that god talks to her personally and tells her what career to get into. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

The problem is not "conservative enough" it's "consistant enough" for me. (the question was about front runners)
