This is where the rubber meets the road. Assuming you are competent, who else's opinion matters?

I dont want politicians deciding how much money should be spent or not to save my kids life and I certainly dont want a politician with an agenda deciding how much my kid is worth.....and i dont think anyone else would like it either...
Seems theres a move in the USA to bring us backwards instead of forward....I have bad feelings about all this...I think this country has a good chance of really going into turmoil...there was a time in my life when it was about people...now its all about money....no one can convince me that this country isnt gripped in greed now...

An outside opinion does not have to live with the agony of a terminal illness, of gasping for breath, of suffering as organs fail one after another. Therefore, I submit that it's easy for "an outside opinion" to say that someone else's pain is "not that bad" when said outside opinion has not experienced it. My personal opinion of my quality of life is, quite frankly, the only opinion that matters.

I think they just hid their greed better. The 1990's was the low-water mark, IMO. Nowadays, it's chic to be greedy and we even have whole political parties organized on just that concept.

Alright, I will agree with you on one point here. If someone is terminally ill (ie medication, machines, anything else is keeping them alive) they should have the choice to end their life. If a person is suicidal they do not have the rite to take their life. This is a momentary lapse in judgement that I do not think the mentally insane have the "rite" to make.

I think it was mutual. I'm a political half-breed. I disagree with everyone at least 50% of the time!

In general the mentally unwell will not have and do not have the ability to go through the planning and legal framework that is required for legal suicide.
