Give me your honest opinion on these two points.

I know, leave the rich alone and they will make everything better for everybody. There the job creators, we can’t do anything without them. Lower their taxes, and deregulate the labor and environmental laws so they can make money. And maybe they will start back doing business in America, and then everybody will have a job. (BULLSH*T PROPOGANDA) That’s what I say and I stand by it. OK, if you deregulate labor and environmental laws what do you think is going to happen? Yes, there are going be more jobs in America, but what kind of job? Low paying jobs, unsafe working conditions, and long hours. I hear all the time about capitalism, how this is a capitalist country, and Obama want to take us down the road to socialism. In my opinion the Republican Party want to take us down the road to dictatorship, and put the corporation and rich in control. What are your thoughts on this?

This is a cut from an article off the web; it may not be tailor made to fit this discussion but it was only this part that really got my goat. “India, China buying U.S. coal mines, shale gas fields” India, China buying U.S. coal mines, shale gas fields | Grist here’s the web address if you would like to read it for yourself. I hear all the time about somebody from somewhere else in the world buying something in America. Is it legal for some one that is not an American citizen to own part of America? If the answer is yes, then I think we need to get to work on changing this law. I hear about the Mexico’s coming here illegally, and I guess with the economy in the shape it is in they are hurting the US some. But if everybody had more jobs than they could fill, then I don’t see a problem with immigration. But the propaganda mill wants to talk about all the job the illegal immigrates are taking from America, that what they want you to focus on, while they have your mind on the illegals coming in the back door the corporations and rich are selling the USA right out from under us. What do you think, am I right, or do you think you can show me way to Dictator Perry’s work fram?:shock:

I think it's ironic to throw around the charge of "propaganda" when you've clearly fallen victim to it yourself.



...and that applies to both points.
 
I don't think either question is dumb.
1. Of course the wealthy will invest in the best return with the least amount of work, risk, liability. Invest in paper, derivatives etc. big profits, not labor problems, no warranty problems. Screw labor, it's a tough business. That's a simple paradigm. That's the service industry.

2. Every US dollar bill outside the USA is like a check that must be honored. If you can trade the "fiat" paper for a coal mine, gas well, timber, or anything else tangible, you'll be in tall cotton, especially acknowledging our huge debt. The foreigners holding those dollars are entitled to honest exchange. There is over $14 trillion of that debt and only 59% held by the USA, meaning there is about $5 trillion floating overseas that the owners would like to trade for something tangible, inside or outside the USA, but ultimately it returns here to purchase something.

I may be dumb as dirt, but I am not blind as a bat. You believe what you like, I know what I see coming. But to a certain extent your right about me being a victim of propogandna.For years the Goverment been treating me like a mussroom, keeping me in the dark and feeding me bullsh*t.

Thanks, for your comment. This is my first post, that I started, and I think I may be a little to left with it. But if it makes a few far righters think, then my job is done.

another good reason not to become dependent on government supplied manure
 
I've a feeling you're not as dumb as you are cabbage looking, but I'll play. Unfortunately, if Americans want jobs then maybe we are going to have to take lower paying jobs. When you realise that people in many parts of the world are able to live on less than $1 a day then how is the US supposed to compete when it comes to manufacturing etc? All of our jobs are going overseas and that will be our downfall. As for long hours, for at least a week every month I work 12-15 hours days, but that's okay because I know that if I don't like it then there are 100 people who'll take that job off my hands in a heartbeat. The reason illegals are an issue is because they are willing to work for less with no benefits. What would we as a nation rather have - no jobs - or lower paying jobs with longer hours?

Your post has the ring of common sense and truth. On the other hand, we don't want to return to the sweatshops of the past and if you don't keep management in check, that is what will happen. The pendulum swings both ways and it is swinging back. Charlie Chaplin was blackballed in the USA for making fun of the human factory robot. There is no question it is a slippery slope, as is Global Warming and our Energy trap. All can be mitigated simultaneously with labor and local economic development programs. These programs would hurt the status quo of big money and that is who owns your politicians, so it is not going to happen unless we take our country back from "Big Corporate."
