stop the lying, that crap has been debunked constantly and is also based on the pathetic BS that percentages count more than actual tax dollars.

You cannot possibly figure my state taxes compared to yours and since I live in a state with a massive income tax you are Full of it. My overall federal tax rate is close to 30%, yours is no where near that. I posted the proof last night on what the various income groups pay

This year, households making more than $1 million will pay an average of 29.1 percent of their income in federal taxes, including income taxes, payroll taxes and other taxes, according to the Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank.
Households making between $50,000 and $75,000 will pay an average of 15 percent of their income in federal taxes.
Lower-income households will pay less. For example, households making between $40,000 and $50,000 will pay an average of 12.5 percent of their income in federal taxes. Households making between $20,000 and $30,000 will pay 5.7 percent.
The latest IRS figures are a few years older — and limited to federal income taxes — but show much the same thing. In 2009, taxpayers who made $1 million or more paid on average 24.4 percent of their income in federal income taxes, according to the IRS.
Those making $100,000 to $125,000 paid on average 9.9 percent in federal income taxes. Those making $50,000 to $60,000 paid an average of 6.3 percent

Nope, dividends are taxed twice, Inheritance is paid by the estate (ie my father) just as I will pay that abomination when I die which is a surcharge upon what I paid in income taxes

and I pay far more dollars than you do and I get nothing in return beyond what you get

You are a freeloader compared to me-people like me help pay for some of your share

Sorry to come late to the party, but has anyone considered that instead of taxing hard working Americans to death the government could try to curb it's wasteful spending and stop spending money it doesn't have?

Good then it should not be a problem for you when the tax breaks on the rich for investments and inheritance are eliminated. Without the working class, you would not have as much wealth to pay taxes on. I understand you feel entitled to continuing your temporary tax breaks, but this feeling will pass with time.

That's what the rich thought when their taxes were lowered and the middle class taxes were increased under Reagan. Time to even things out now.

We really should have a flat rate. Better yet, take that suggestion that we give up on income tax and simply make a higher sales tax. We'd get the illegal immigrants to pay, too.

since 51% pay no income tax and 95% pay less taxes than the top 5% of us good. Most of the people should pay more, they pay too little because we in the top 5% subsidize the low rates for the rest of you

We arent in massive debt because we dont take in enough taxes...we are in massive debt because congress spends money like crack whores. We are in debt because 50% of the public pays ZERO in income tax and in fact gets free money via the EIC. We are in massive debt because there are far too many crippled and dependent little ****s in this country that insist the government needs to take care of them and incessantly whine and bitch and moan about how unfair the world is. Meanwhile people of every race and nationality come to this country legally or otherwise and manage to bust their ass and find success. You didnt fix ****...you are the illustration of the problem.
