So it is best to regulate it, to make it safer for the women, and the men who engage in this activity. Women won't be abused, and forced to walk the streets at night, and it will allow for regulation which will stop the spread of STD's, and unwanted pregnancies among the women, and also the men.
This of course, would simply make too much sense.

Until we find a way to move the less socially acceptable forms of these acts into private settings only, they need to be regulated.
i'm a Nevada native..i can show you how to do it in a fashion that does not offend sensibilities

the only place that prostitution is in the public eye, in Nevada, is the county where it is illegal ( clark county, which includes Las Vegas)
legal brothels look like cheesy trailer parks or cheesy hotels, but none of the "labor force" and none of the "interactions' are in the public eye.
downtown Vegas has the "labor force" flaunting what they got on multiple corners in full view of the public... and many, but not most, "interactions" take place in public areas.. parks, alley's, parked cars, etc.
if your desire it to put it behind closed doors.. allow for legal brothels.

I think it's bad for society and for the law to view sex as a purchasable commodity. It degrades the human body, encourages sexual immorality, and still would not outlaw illegal prostitution. If a pimp has to pay taxes for prostitution, pay to have them drug tested, and if clients have to pay to be drug tested themselves to prove they won't spread disease will result in a price hike. Illegal markets will still be around because they can offer sex for less.

There would still be some street prostitution, but not at the levels we see now, most people will use the legal option because it is safer, will offer a better experience, and has no risk of going to jail. And women will work at these places far more then working on the street because they will make more money, have a significantly fewer risk of getting a STD, unwanted pregnancy, and will they wont be abused by an illegal pimp with no accountability, he, or she will have to play by the rules, and treat them fairly, and humanly.

And you may think it is immoral, but that has no bearing on whether or not it should be legal, one person's immorality is another person's good time. And that good be said about anything, take alcohol for example. Would you like someone denying you the right to drink alcohol because they thought it was immoral? Do you want their morality affecting how you live your life? If it doesn't harm anyone, it should be legal, and regulated prostitution does not fit that standard for making it illegal.

Why not? As George Carlin put it, "Selling is legal, ****ing is legal. Why is selling ****ing not legal?"
For: legalizing drugs, gay marriage, abortion, guns, universal health care, public sector jobs, nuclear power, free education, progressive taxation
Against: corporations, make-work, the 40 hour work week, intellectual property, imperialism, "homeland security," censorship

Yes, because maintaining a façade of dignity and throwing our problems into the shadows to fester is better than actually addressing those problems. We want people we don’t like to suffer so that our conservative sensibilities aren’t offended.

Yes. Reading some of the posters that feel that some people can't be "trusted" to keep their sex private is ridulous and hypocritical. The rule is that until people break a valid law, they are free to do what they want. There should not be laws enacted "in case" some people can't be trusted. We don't have laws that stop some people from driving in case they get in an accident. WE wait for the accident and then deny them. The whold notion of disallowing people the freedom to have sex with whom they want is oppression, pure and simple.
