It is a running meme here in Texas always has been. No one ever really took it seriously when I was growing up.

Secession is a tool of the states against tyranny.

Hell no. On a surface level, that was an extremely unAmerican thing to consider, and I wouldn't want someone who might leave if a bunch of dumbs**ts in his state decide to. On a deeper level, a President that thinks secession is justifiable is something that should never happen. I devoutly believe this Union is inseperable, and it'll seperate over my dead body, and the bodies of millions of other Americans.

So, in short, this completely disqualifies Perry as a serious candidate for President, alongside Cain, Bachmann, Paul, and Santorum.

Legally the states have no right to secession. The Supreme Court ruled that in Texas vs White.

Maybe. Honestly i would not want a president who is currently saying this who is trying to run as one. But if the person did like lets say years ago and has had a change of heart then it would not really bother me..

That's a mighty big principled stand that you're taking there. I mean, just think about the sacrifice that it entails, you being a liberal and all.

The word meme has become a meme.

As has the phrase no true Scotsman. Don't know what it means, stop reading when I see it. I digress.

I like Perry. He hates BO almost as much as I do. And if he doesn't win, Texas is soo outtta here. Will you really miss us? Fear us, yeah. But miss us?

We are divided. And bitter. One side needs to lose and lose bad. We're at a crossroads. We can choose entitlement or liberty, but can't have both. That's what Perry is saying.

Perry is a man who is completely out of touch with reality as shown by his prayer rally. I don't know how anyone could support a man who thinks our problems can be solved by praying to a dead Jewish rabbi who hasn't even been proven to exist. Seriously, just once I'd like to see presidential candidate who is a rationalist and doesn't buy into this superstitious nonsense.
