I'm thinking that the electorate has been given a real tutorial on the motives of the "Conservatives, Republicans" and now are sure that they are neither patriots nor good Americans, just self interested rich blowhards. Perhaps they will see their way to a Green Wave in the next cycle.

Yes - I am sure they will be damned for holding the position that if the government refuses to willfully live within its means, it must be forced to do so.

so what is your opinion of the Democratic congresscritters who voted to "run our country off an economic cliff"?

had Obama maneurvered the Tea Party into "forcing" him to dramatically cut entitlements, this might have worked - though the fact that such a move would have to pass the Democrat controlled Senate and be signed by Obama would have severely blunted it's charge. as for the "cuts" in this deal? they are only "extreme" to those who think that the government should be spending more.

The extreme comment had nothing to do with the cuts...it had everything to do with the attitude of the teaparty...all they do is DEMAND...that wont work in the long run

What is it with people that have no dog in the fight?
