We cannot end the embargo because it might bring peace and prosperity for both countries.

Which explains why China has such a huge trade surplus vis a vis the United States.

China does not practice a free market. If you understood their neo-mercantilist economic policy, you would know that...

I don't give a damn what happens with their country or their people to be quite honest. It's economically beneficial to have them as a trading partner. To be honest, we should just take over the place now and make it, along with Puerto Rico, Guam, etc, US states. I hate the idea of a hostile nation who we refuse to trade with being right there.

We tried that once already by force... didn't work out so well. Until Fidel is underground, nothing will change.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

So, you think Fidel is the one behind the embargo?

What makes you think Cuba is a hostile Nation. I know we had to swat Haiti's Aristide when he had hundreds of free Cuban doctors running around because it makes US medicine look a lot monetaristic and selfish, but Cuba's cigar twisters don't seem to be harrassing any country. Matter of fact, the Cuban doctors are a ubiquitous helping presence in poor Latin America. The CIA will surely stamp them out soon enough. There'll be none of that non-profit medicine where we are at, don't you think?
