    Re: Multiculturalism

I bring this up as the man behind the Norway attacks did it on motivation from Norway's open doors policy on immigration.
The Oslo shooter was an anti-social Nietzschean WoW-playing nutjob, I don't see what his 'politics' have to do with anything.
"I do not claim that every incident in the history of empire can be explained in directly economic terms. Economic interests are filtered through a political process, policies are implemented by a complex state apparatus, and the whole system generates its own momentum."

    Re: Multiculturalism

This Nation is supposed to be a melting pot and was for a long time for the most part with a few places like China Towns etc. where people tried to stay they way they had it one old country, but didn't try to change this Nation into China etc, today Mexicans have an agenda that says lets turn the U.S. into Mexico.

Don't believe it read about THE AZTLAN INVASION & THE LA RAZA FASCIST PARTY FOR MEXICAN SUPREMACY, until you do sit down and shut up.

Most Mexicans are good Americans but not all. Just like some Liberals can think for themselves but not all, and some Conservatives and Liberals are racists, but not all.

I have a close friend named Frank Valdez. His Dad crossed over illegally in the 40s but wanted to be an American and Frank was born here two years later and that's why he's Frank, a great American who calls himself Poncho because he's proud of his roots but he waves the American flag and he was once in City Government and sis a great job for the people. All the People.

Frank lived the dream his Dad wanted, and Frank helped him become a legal citizen because he wanted to be American, not a Mexican trying to turn this Nation into the crap hole he escaped from.

The melting pot dried up a long time ago along with the dream of immigrants becoming an American. Now immigrants want to insert their society into the USA, and being "politically correct", many Americans would drastically change our society to appease them.

    Re: Multiculturalism

The US doesn't need the state policy for it. As far as figuring out whether or not the US needs to directly follow multiculturalist literature? No, it shouldn't. Multiculturalist literature prescribes ample examples of asking its citizens to be entirely too relativistic toward other cultures, other states. It also prescribes a model of "social justice" that can at times become ridiculously collectivist or ironically segregationist.

The United States does not need to follow academic models of multiculturalism, it should rather follow its more benevolent forms. Much of the time, it simply asks for inclusion. Americanization and assimilation models of the past did a poor job with many immigrants of removing far too much of their cultural or religious heritages at the same time as it completely ignored other cultures from even becoming Americanized.

I believe multiculturalism in the United States is mostly accepted, it is just not embraced as whole-heartedly as the academics want.

A nation's culture is its most precious possession. It must be vigilantly protected.

All people do have things in common.

The doctrine of Multiculturalism has little to do with the policy on immigration per se, but on establishing that such immigrants should not have to integretae into society. It is the near opposite of the melting pot approach, which certainly accepts immigrants, but expectes them to adopt the greater culture when they do so.
