Who do you trust to actually do it? And, if so, why?
I really don't trust either side
The Dems already budged on spending.Neither parties. The deems won't budge on spending and the GOP also won't budge on taxes. They need to compromise. They need to show their worth. They need to show to the US citizens that yes, they can be trusted to rule the country. That trust is now broken
Considering Democrats havent released a budget in almost 3 YEARS..........and are unable to cut a cent of government spending, including Cowboy Poetry Contests........
.........The Tea Party remains our only hope of a balanced budget.........

No one can be trusted as neither side truly cares about the country. If they did, we'd of had a solution to this debt problem, in addition to a hell of a lot more legislation that would have made this country better and more equal (like imprisoning the Wall Street fat cats who got bailed out)
I wouldn't say I trust either of them persay...but historically the Democrats have had a better track record, and even today seem to be more serious about long-term solvency (as opposed to easily-reversible discretionary cuts). So I suppose I trust them more than I trust the Republicans...but neither party is particularly trustworthy on anything other than doing what they think is in their own best political interests.
Historically, democrats have been much more fiscally responsible, at least for the last 40 years. I see nothing to suggest that has changed in any way. This same crop of republicans who are calling for cuts now will be the first ones in line to jack up spending like like as soon as they have the presidency and senate.
