In all seriousness, I'd like the GOP a lot more if they would put their beliefs aside, and voted to raise taxes. At the same time, I would hope they demand as many cuts as possible. This isn't a one-way solution, you have to stop spending, increase the efficiency of tax-collection, and increase taxes.

Senators and congressmen can turn on their campaign promises more easily than a president can. This is due to short attention span or short term memory of voters. This is how McCain can be one of the biggest RINOs in office but yet keep getting elected.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

They must do what's right by the Republic and for the People. We may have to raise some taxes and pay for the crap we bought to improve our overall lot.

I can't watch videos from my current location.

In principle, no, the average American doesn't like any sort of tax increase; but factor in decades of deficits, an unwillingness to cut services, and a heightening negativity toward corporations (which are generally connected with the wealthy in the public consciousness), a majority of Americans are convinced raising income taxes on higher-income brackets is the better political choice right now.

    I agree 100%. But that's a very un-libertarian idea.

So you would like Republicans a lot more if they just abandoned their conservative principles and became tax and spend happy Democrats.........

    .......who would of thought.......

At the same time, you continue to vote for the Democrat party........

.......a party unable to cut even a Cowboy Poetry Contest......a party that hasnt released a budget in over 800 days........a party that has never made a significant spending cut in US History........a party that exists to invent new ways of spending our money........a party that will surely bankrupt this country if they continue to be empowered.

Doesn't the fact that he won the election mean that he has a mandate, and thus did not defy the will of the people, since the majority of people voted for him? I mean, which is it? Did he bring out the sheep-minded liberals out in droves to elect him, or is he acting without mandate? You can't have it both ways.

Spot on. What's good for the country should ALWAYS trump personal political gain. Sadly, the opposite is what actually happens.

Why is someone who can't run a lemonade stand a Kenyan? The people want a lemonade stand? I make mine fresh.
