Nixon fully killed (the famous we're all Keynesian now) it to my understanding but at the time the standard was hanging by a thread by the time he gained power.

This is my understanding too. Nixon was the last liberal president.

    Re: Presidential Report Card

We actually left the "true" gold standard behind more than a century ago. What came after was the quote-unquote "gold exchange standard."
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

A straight "C" from me. No backbone, and he seems to be in bed with everyone with exception to "we the people." On the good side, he is well liked ouside of the US, mainly because anyone would look good after Bush.
No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it, Trump said... Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

I had B-. He has not done as much as I would like, but considering the state of the country when he joined there is only so much he can accomplish. Between the UHC bill, ordering the Osama strike, and improved international relations I can give him a few points.

C-/D+ Generally the President has been willing to alter his position on the worst of his foreign policy instincts; which he deserves credit for. His domestic leadership, however, has largely consisted of lurching from one entangled screw up to another.

Almost every president is the worst while they're around.

    D+...

Was not a fan of the health care reform. Not a fan of the push for cap and trade. Not a fan of his stubborness on the Bush Tax Cuts. Didn't like how a large amoutn of his rhetoric during the campaign which was largely what accelerated him to victory came out to be complete BS. Not been a large fan of his handling of a variety of the foreign issues we've ran into. I have liked some of his actions with regards to national defense and the military, but many of those in a two steps forward two steps back type of way.

For reference, I'd not rate any of the past 4 presidential terms as above a C+ for myself.

So unemployment, higher or lower than 4 years ago?

So Wars, are we in more or less wars?

So Gitmo, is it closed yet?

So is your house (if you own one), worth more or less than it was 4 years ago?

So are we in more or less debt than we were 4 years ago....
