It lacks direction for a lot of liberals as well. I mean, the super-leftist in me just wants him to grab the bull by the horns and do some serious industrial policy in order to get our economy back on track. Of course conservatives would never stand for that.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

It's one thing to be honest about the fact that his policies lack direction, and that he doesn't really take principled stands on a lot of issues.

The baseless and idiotic attacks on the part of partisan hacks are quite another.

Oh I completely agree. When I reread it I realized I left something off. It lacks direction, but if you don't prescribe to that school then it seems even more so.

I have to disagree with those who say that BO is not leading the party. He is, but in the wrong direction

Why just this morning, he had a talk with Pelosi (who has said she is opposed to cutting SS) to tell her that he is going to rally Congress to cut SS. This comes after he has actively led the Dems to re-authorize the Patriot Act, re-new bush* tax cuts, prevent the creation of a "public option" for health insurance, expand education "deform", get incolced in another war we can't afford, crackdown on whistleblowers and medical marijuana dispensaries, and a number of other republican ideas

The best thing about Obama is his dog, Bo.

    Re: Presidential Report Card

I don't like the letter grade system.

Just to do a quick summery, there are a couple of things I think he's signed on that have been positive, in my opinion.
Particularly, opening up the Pell grant to part time students.
Which was sorely needed for working adults.

The bad is his continued political word/speech manipulation.
    Hate politicians that do that.
    It shows dishonesty.

    1. He continues to fascist drug war
    2. He continues to mindless bloodshed abroad in addition he has stated more
    3. Unemployment is still high
    4. He has done nothing to curb Government Gang Banger powers

Harry what is another thing you view as a positive because I believe we have discussed the positive of the Pell grants before.

I'm going to Taco Bell, let me think about it a little more on the way and back.

Oh I am jealous. They took away my Taco Bell to put our 6th Starbucks on campus.

    Re: Presidential Report Card

He gets an F for more than one reason.

People claim Obama is brilliant but he hides his records just as his Birth Certificate has been hidden, and think he got lousy grades in school and that's why he hades the records.

I think he got a lot of Ds, and some Fs making him an F-er
