From what I understand the majority of Republicans don't want to raise the debt ceiling because they know that we need to start making huge cuts in spending. So here's my little contribution to the debt ceiling arguement.
When they go to discuss this issue make this suggestion to the republicans. (note i'm going to act like a democrat for this) "If you agree to raise the debt ceiling we promise, and will add the stipulation into the bill for raising the debt ceiling, that we will not make any new spending bills until we have fully addressed making cuts to current spending and implemented those cuts. The cuts will not be below a minimum of 1 trillion dollars."
What do you think of this suggestion?
IMO it would deflate the sails of anyone that is against raising the debt ceiling and it would more than likely even give Democrats a positive image because it would show people that they really are serious about our debt problem. (Seriously...I do wonder if they are serious about it)
