I didn't know how to make a poll so I'll just ask my question.

Who thinks or doesn't think the Government is for sale?

My own opinion, it is extremely naive to believe they are not. Extremely. There's also a little humor in it, though. Our political system is part of the free market :p You can think of our government as the company wealthy entities buy shares in. Seriously, literally, that's how it seems to be.

But what does everyone else think?

My years of experience as a Politician, Reporter, and Talk Show Host I have seen that the most important thing in politics for most people is to get reelected, and that takes money and that makes offices for sale.

I have interviewed a number of Politicians and a lot of them bend over backwards to make themselves seem to be more interested in doing the right thing when in fact their actions betray them most of the time.

They then spend a great deal of time in the spin zone.

No body has done more of this than Obama, who is either fund raising or spinning what he has done and is doing.

That makes him Liar in Chief

Do I feel our government is for sale? Absolutely!

I read a report a year or two ago that showed the net wealth of our congressmen and senators just before being elected to office vs just a few years in office. There was a substantial difference, far far more then the positions wage alone could account for.

The lot of it is for sale. The lobbyists have the ear of Congress and the Presidency and they get what they want. The government serves their needs above all others. It's why they didn't worry about the recession until it hit the banks and Wall Street. And when that happened, they used our money to bail them out. When they got more secure, the government stopped caring as much. They now pay lip service, but in the end run obstructionist campaigns against the other party which gives us no budget, a slow recovery, higher unemployment, etc. But they have no fear of losing power or anything else because they get enough of us to blindly point our finger at the other side and blame them when in fact they are all at fault for selling out the American people to the banks.

Uhhh yes it is for sale. Yes it is..

I agree. The whole Obama as a shining knight of justice thing is as ridiculous as Reagan's cult. I watched a documentary that made a a very good point to me. Throughout our nations history, democrats and republicans have switched roles of good guy and bad guy often depending on how long one party stays in power. The Repubican's once rallied to fight the 40 year corruption of the democrats. The Dem's rally to fight the corruption of the Republicans. It doesn't matter who's in office. In time, we'll have to take them down because apparently politicians have a shelf-life for morality.

Exactly. The answer to that question seems like common sense. Idiotic to even ask almost, but evident that we really are powerless to prevent it from happening. All we can do is frustrate it.

It seems Obama has been bought from the get-go.

He has been a bit of a disappointment, unfortunately. It is quite obvious that the system has changed him. We need someone more resilient.

only for those who can afford it

we have the best government money can buy
