Did the Jury get it right in the Casey Anthony trial

Did the jury get the verdict right in the Casey Anthony trial?

I didn't know what to think when I heard commentator after commentator hoist up the little girl to promote the next segment.

There are websites specifically for Caylee where members have pictures of her as their avatars. They post messages to Caylee on a daily basis, almost like they're e-mailing a friend across-country. It's very, very sad that this little girl died so young, regardless of why and how she died. But some people are not only disturbingly obsessive, but also shamelessly self-promoting in her image.

I never said that. Not once. I said "her guilt can't be proven".

And quite frankly, I don't care about whether or not I disappoint you. I'm not living and breathing to gain your approval.

Why even respond to my initial post if you simply want to argue? Don't bother me with contention.

I say she's the murderer, and I say our system, the best of the worst, is not good.

It's my opinion, and that's it.

Perhaps. If it has the media going nuts, the jury must have been onto something.

Jury was into CSI on CBS vegas, NY and Miami....where there is ALWAYS physical evidence...ALWAYS...bullshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit lol

The jury did what they were supposed to do. They weighed the evidence from both sides and they decided. Whatever they decided is right. That's the system, no matter how many bloodthirsty Monday morning quatrerbacks think differently. Incidentally the system is geared to the presumption of innocence. If you are not proven guilty, then lawfully you are indeed innocent.

For somebody who waxes philosophical so often, you would think you would be interested in considering new information in regards to your opinion. I suppose I was wrong there.

That sounds familiar. I heard that line a million times on the news. Interesting, isn't it?

Hell, didn't Nancy Grace delare her guilty? That shoud be good enough for anyone?

Hey, maybe the USA should abolish the jury system and just have her pass judgement. ;)

Interesting as to where it comes from. Very little information has been released about the jurors...I'm wondering how I missed their TV watching habits.

I was eating ribs with a friend of mine last night, I decided to check the Apple app store for "news." The trial updates were the two most popular apps.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I let Nancy Grace's judgment alter my life in any way. That woman is an arrogant, two-bit bitch.

That's crazy. I followed it, but I wasn't following it out of some sick obsession w/justice. The fact that there are no answers intrigued me. I didn't save pictures of Caylee/Casey and create little homages to either of them.

Only in the mainstream media is it fashionable to decry the hi-tech crime programs for unjustly influencing the jurors, while simultaneously following the programs' credo: all crime delivers easy justice.

Did the jury in the Casey Anthony trial get the verdict right? The defense demonstrated reasonable doubt and the prosecution was unable to prove the case against Ms. Anthony

Yes it was.

Most of the evidence was very circumstantial. The prosecutor's case did not overcome the standard of reasonable doubt. They could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony killed her. This is how the system is. This is how the system should be.

Do you think that question doesn't press on my mind every few minutes? I know I usually speak of absolute proof and unproven beliefs. This case, every single minute detail, makes my gut deep down know... she did it. She's getting away with murder.

This scenario simply shows me the hilarity of our system...

...and shows me how incredibly easy it is to get away with murder.

It also shows exactly where your "philosophical mind" shuts off. Knowing "in your gut, deep down" because of circumstantial evidence isn't reliable, and you know it. You're talking emotion and instinct, not fact.

To forsake emotion and instinct for only observable facts is not human. Unless, of course, I take on that challenge.

We humans have many intangible components. I can be so philosophical and fact-based, yet issues---very certain issues like this one---dredge up emotions and a sense of injustice... fallible system be damned.

Which is why you would get eliminated as a juror in voir dire.

Even with emotion, logic must prevail. That too, is human.

Yes, unfortunately, the jury's verdict was consistent with the evidence, or lack thereof, and the specific charges filed. I've always said that Casey Anthony knew what happened to her daughter and knew her child was rotting in the swamp. That said, there wasn't a scintilla of physical evidence linking her to any crime, only very flimsy circumstantial evidence proving nothing but the fact that Casey Anthony is a pathological liar who knew her daughter was dead and was willing to throw her own family under the bus to justify herself.

The biggest problems, in my opinion, was that the prosecution could not even prove that a homicide had been committed. There was no official cause of death, and the ME couldn't even state that the death was a homicide. The ME ruled the cause of death "Unknown."

Casey Anthony wasn't charged with being a heartless bitch who didn't care that her daughter was dead. She wasn't charged with improperly disposing of human remains. She was charged with first-degree murder, with evidence that couldn't even prove that a homicide was committed.

I think we can thank the good-for-nothing cop that Kronk took to the swamp in August, and who was too lazy to walk a few feet through water to find remains which might have had sufficient tissue for toxilogical and DNA testing. It sucks that this bitch is free, but there seriously wasn't enough evidence to convict her, and if the jury had found her guilty I'm convinced it would have been overturned on appeal.

Yep. Thankfully they did the right thing and feel so bad for this jury as now people are hating on them so much. Had I been on that jury? It woulda been a hard choice but I would have went the same way. Both sides failed to prove their case and the way little Caylee died or motived was never proved.

I understand people being pissed off but feel this case is a prime example of how our jury system does work. The public had already tried Casey but the jury ruled with their minds rather than their heartstrings.

They can still charge her with child neglect though.
No double jeopardy with that.

They can try but it would be a waste of tax dollars as she would probably be found not guilty.

Shhhh.. Do not give Nancy any ideas:shock::lol:
