Do you still support the United Nations?

    Simple enough.

    I do.

    Do you?

I assume you mean the ideal that brought them into being. Yes. Is it a perfect organization? No. Would we ever allow them to power to actually do anything? No. But even tilting windmills can serve a purpose.

That's far too broad of a question to be answered with a yes or no. The UN has some extremely effective organizations (World Health Organization), some laughably awful organizations (Human Rights Council), and plenty of inept bureaucracies (Security Council). It doesn't really make sense to ask if one approves of the UN, since it merely reflects the views of its member states.

Legitimate, I'd chose "On the fence" if I were you. I simply asked this because I've noticed a fair bit of people on this site who completely detest the UN in every way and would like to see the US leave the UN. I wanted to see the actual ratio.

I don't care that it exists, I'd just prefer we (the US) not be a part of it.

You ever hear the saying keep your friends close and your eneimes closer? NK won't run anything, but merely being a part of it keeps them fairly close.

But, regardless, I would not suggest it can't be improved. There is something between total acceptance and saying to hell with it.

Re: Do you still support the United Nations?

I theory? Sure. In practice? Ehhh... I wouldn't go as far as to say I detest them, but they seem to be generally inept and bureaucratic to the point where I wouldn't trust them to find their way out of a paper bag. I find the UN sort of embarrassing more than anything.

I voted "on the fence." Another one of those good ideas that has turned out to not work so well in practice.
