I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
One of the hardest things for people to do is to admit when they're wrong. It's also one of the strongest positions one can take. "I admit it; I was wrong," puts power back into one's own hands and takes it from one's opponent, if you will. Most people never learn that lesson in life...so they go through it looking like jackasses every once in a while.
Thank you, Quazi!
I was a design engineer for decades. I worked with other design engineers. At the leading edge of technology we make more mistakes than we get things right. Admit, when it’s out in front of everybody? Most of us get used to it. We also get better at it and make fewer mistakes. Nope, we couldn’t look up the correct process or solution in a book, there was no dogma to apply. (However, in some other engineering fields there is a book and dogma.)
If you knew the women I did, then yeah you would be wrong a lot.

It is difficult, but yes I can admit it and I will if I realize I'm wrong. I have done it severall times before.
It seems like most people can do the same, but I have met a minority who can never admit they are wrong. When they realize they are wrong, they will start flaming, tjhey will stop answering, they will go off-topic or even lie. For instance they pretend you or they said something else. A lot of extremists tend to have these characteristics.
