I have never cared about that. I have found that the force of my personality is often so strong that I can win people over if I ever want to, when I want to.
That's true but mainly it's for personal convenience.
I work around some real ****ty people, along with some decent folks.
I tend to stay away from the ****ty, to avoid all the drama that goes along with them.
The people who attempt to suck the resources out of all around them.
(The guys always asking for money, cig's, a ride home/to work, etc.)
Perhaps. I tend to take everyone individually and watch for the subtle signs in their physical behavior to determine their honesty and other personality traits. However, honesty is a huge thing for me. If a person is not honest, I don't care about their other personality traits. Often you can pick out a very good person, in the middle of a group of not so nice people, if you know what to look for.
I do tend to watch before interacting, to determine who the person really is.
Even somewhat dishonest people can be manipulated into supporting you.
It sounds wrong but it's mostly for self protection/preservation.
