Yeah, except if they want to become parents via IVF, the other partner has to spend thousands "adopting" their own child. And they aren't allowed to visit their partners in the hospital. And a laundry list of other things they can't do because they are LEGALLY discriminated against.

It seems like you're offended by being presented with the LEGAL inequality and asked to decide. You take that as flaunting.

And if you think it's offensive for someone to ask you to make a civil rights call, then I can't help but wonder if you don't have a bit of shame in your answer.

I honestly don't give a **** until they force me to make a decision.

Oscar Wilde said homosexuality is "the love that dare not speak it's name." Someone more recently called it "the love that will not shut it's mouth."

They want acceptance. I don't blame them. I just don't think they can legislate it, try as they might.
It's not legislating acceptance. It is legislating equal rights and treatment under the law.

Opening marriage up to same sex couples is no more forcing people to accept gay couples than opening up marriage to interracial couples was forcing people to accept interracial couples. There are still people now that do not consider interracial couples to be "really" married.

So can straights. I have no problem being straight without being married. However, marriage makes my life easier in countless ways. I couldn't imagine not having access to those things based on the sex of the person that I was agreeing to enter into a marriage with.

As long as there is Equal Protection, it will be called the gay rights movement. Until every last thing is equal between the two demographics of hetero and homosexual. It's just how civil rights movements are. They are self-perpetuating.

As for hate crime legislation... that's a whole other debate and I think you know that.

If they want to become parents they can marry a person of the opposite sex. End of discussion.

    Not buying. Sorry.

I'm in what would have been called an interracial marriage not long ago. We're just fine, as are the black-white couples I've known over the years.

What do I call that besides intolerance? Really. What else can it be?

If that's where you stand, fine. But there's no objective reason for it. No studies support that. So it's not like it's about the kids.

And what about everything else? Do you simply not mind some people being legally discriminated against?

Too bad about 10 % so far of this country legally allows same sex couples to get married, and that number is growing. Too bad the courts are in the last couple years unanimous is stating that marriage is a right same sex couples should have. Too bad popular opinion in the country is shifting fairly quickly, with most people now supporting SSM. Your proclamation is failing, miserably.
