The legislation is enabling, not prescriptive. It allows equality, it doesn't force an individual minister/priest to comply.

If that were the case, they couldn't refuse to marry hetrosexuals couples now. As is often the case, the arguments you make can just as easily be made against hetrosexuals long before now. It is silly to believe anything changes that would require churches to marry anyone they don't want to. The state has a court house and does not need to involve churches. When will your side run out of fear mongering tactics?

    There should be no reaction.

Government is not to impose on religion.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what liberals want them to do, particularly the ACLU. Note all the lawsuits that have cropped up lately just over the displaying of even a cross, and let's not forget the atheist group in New York who is pitching a fit over the street with the religious name near Ground Zero.

No, it's completely true. You can't even put a nativity scene out now without the ACLU breathing down your neck. What makes you so sure they won't try to step in with a lawsuit to start making ministers perform gay wedding ceremonies?

You can't put a nativity scene on city property. You can put it on your own lawn.

Yes you can, you are completely misinterpreting what the ACLU does, they are a very pro freedom of religion organization.

    I didn't know the ACLU was pro-Christian.

It makes me wonder, then, why the ACLU is always legally harassing Christians.
