Should Spanish be an official language of the USA?

Note: The question is if it's to be an official language, not the official one. English would be the other official language.

Re: Should Spanish be an official language of the USA?

Not just no but HELL NO!

For over 230 years we have had one language and it serves us well.

Mexicans are seeking to over though us and take large portions of the West and destroy them as they have done Mexico.

If Mexicans want a good place to live, they need to create it with what they have but it will never happen because they are stupid uneducated and have no chance of doing better, until they change on their own.

Re: Should Spanish be an official language of the USA?

Anyone that speaks just Spanish in America is ignorant. I dont even like it when they speak it around me.

Re: Should Spanish be an official language of the USA?

Not only no but hell no. If you want to live in the US then you need to learn English. Most Americans do not speak perfect English. So we do not expect immigrants to speak like a English textbook, English Teacher,or grammar fag/nazi.Nor do even expect immigrants to even get a degree in English. We just expect them to learn enough English to be proficient in it.

Here I totally disagree.
Your attitude is bad to say the least.

Lets not mention French, or Spanish, Creole, or a **** ton of Indian languages who's speakers are just as American as you. I don't think Spanish should be an official language, but acting as if all Americans speak English and nothing else is plain stupid and really reflects on your understanding of history.

Re: Should Spanish be an official language of the USA?

There should be only one official language in the US; and that, for practical reasons, should be English. But, don’t extrapolate that into requiring everyone here to know English. Not knowing English should not be effectively against the law.

I find irony in your post... is it intentional?

Re: Should Spanish be an official language of the USA?

Absoultely, positively, not.

IF we're going to go to having an official language, it should start and stop at English.

Re: Should Spanish be an official language of the USA?

I don't think anything should be an official language here in the US. We have tons of Spanish speakers and therefore having things printed optionally in Spanish is vital, but having any official language is in my view not necessary.
