That has got to be the stupidest add I've seen this year. I can't even imagine what kind of mind would actually respond to such demented crap. Who in the hell is their target audience supposed to be??

Honestly, Redress it's not that big of a stretch at all and it would account for your annoyance at VancMack for pointing out MoveOn is no better.

No, no, and no. I readily admitted it was just like that, but I am talking about this particular add, which seems to have gone beyond anything done recently.

I suspect you are accusing me of doing this because it is what you would have done. However, it's not what I did.
 
I remember watching a video called "eat dat watermelon" and didn't find it as offensive as this. Who buys into this kind of B.S.?
 
It is very stupid...but I also voted effective. How many people know Janice Hahn helped gang members get out of jail? I know that had it not been for that add, almost no one here would have known that.

No evidence she did actually, except one guy who assumed that was how he got out...cept he was not part of the program.

Redress, is there a link for information about this program? Because in all honesty, it seems like a really good idea, and I'm curious as to how it worked in practice.

I saw this in another thread. I said then, and I still believe, that this has the potential for a winning lawsuit. I don't think this crap is protected by campaign laws, and I think a certain superpac video is going to be tested in a real court, not just the court of public opinion.

Personally, I think it's trash.
 
By the way, just found this out and figured it was worth adding for completeness: Republican Craig Huey, who is the guy actually running against Hahn in the July election, rather viciously attacked the add, calling it "racist and sexist" and saying that such did not have "any place in the public sphere".

Doesn't matter. They have a grainy, jail house confession video...that's enough to convict in the eyes of the public. I'm not saying the video is factual. I'm just saying it will work. Plus it is so cheesy you can't forget it.

I remember that last time I was in California I heard a stupid radio add. It talked about how awful a certain private school was because it served water with chlorine in it. They made the school sound like a bunch of redneck hicks..and it was lame and stupid and so inaccurate and I still remember it two years later. Had I heard it more than once I'd probably remember the name of the school.
