If you have nothing new to add to a discussion or debate, do you just keep repeating yourself?

Yeah, sometimes. But that's not insanity....this is.

the same point being repeated over and over would indicate that people keep attempting
to post the same topic over and over again in hopes of a different result.

I am speaking of within a thread. The Palin threads spring to mind. If they didn't hear you the first time, saying the same damn thing will garner the same damn results.

I only repeat myself when people keep misrepresenting my original argument.

If they keep doing it, then why do you think repeating yourself will make a difference?

Wilful repetition with the hope of a different result even though you keep getting the same result is actually the original definition of stupidity, not insanity.

It could be categorized as insane if the person cannot control themselves.

I've never heard that. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." -- Albert Einstein

There's nothing that bores me faster than having to explain the same thing to the same people over and over again.

I'll do that about twice. The third time, I figure they're trolling/baiting and I just walk away. Dishonest and disingenuous posters are not worth my time.

Like someone arguing government cannot create jobs after being shown a whole host of industries that exist because of the government?

That would make a few members here insane.

A "super-salad" for lunch.
cheese(Wisconsin cheddar)
apple
lettuce
celery
pepper
chives(in season)
union
tomato(in season)
Some other greens(in season)
topped with nuts(walnut, pecan, almond, cashew, sunflower, and some "Cajun trail mix")
mayonnaise
all chopped up small(similar to popcorn), I never see what I eat, but the taste is excellent.
And I must admit, I do beat dead horses.

And after a while (hundreds of years) earn that every argument has two or more sides.
And that this will never change.
