    Re: John Huntsman

Jobs and Economy focused guy first and foremost. Decently solid fiscal conservative track record being great on taxes but more middle of the road on spending. Seems to be a guy who wants to empower the private sector to fix things than to try and make government fix things. Moderate on social issues and unlikely to make them a focal point, which is great for this election. Served for Reagan and Bush. Has a heck of a resume as a cabinet member, a governor, ambassador, etc. And apparently an extremely good governor at that.

I don't worry much about serving as Ambassador for Obama. I don't care who you are, right left or middle, if the POTUS asks you to hold such a position then you accept that save for very rare circumstances. I don't hold that against him.

    Very interesting candidate.

the word you are looking for is Conservative. The Rockefeller wing of the Republican party hated Reagan. It would be the very same today. So we conservatives must regain control of the Republican party.

Obama is Bush for crying out loud. People voted for change. And got a third term of Bush.

Reagan would be skewered by the modern GOP for his reckless fiscal liberalism and tendency to increase taxes not to mention prolonging stagflation.

And the obscenely large government that grew under him. Republicans worship an idealized view that has been whitewashed. They ignore how Reagan bailedout social security. They ignore his massive tax hike. They ignore that actual social spending per capita was HIGHER under him then Carter (lol!!!). In more then a few ways there is a cult of Reagan that ignores reality and substitutes it for fantasy. Reagan did an absolutely fabulous job on his PR and people are still falling for it decades later. And I think it has something to do with the fact that they really don't have a recent Republican to flock to. Ford? Not a chance. Nixon? Don't make me laugh. HW was by far a better president then his son, but he's frankly boring. Going back, Ike is a Democrat to them. Not exactly alot of choices left.

i know. like i've said many times....reagan is to the gop what obama is to the democratic party. they both spoke extremely well.
they were both inspirational.....and did the exact opposite of what they spoke and aspired to be. plain and simple.
