He is a decent, moderate Republican, who thinks he needs to be the President. Who knows, on the Rockefeller side of the party they all think it is their turn. Think Dole. Think McCain...

Think Dole. Think McCain. Neither have been president so I am guessing Huntsman won't either? The GOP need someone who is known by America.

The problem with that, however, is that the Republicans who are "known by America" are not electable. IF the GOP stands ANY chance in the next election, they better find an outside soon that America will actually vote for. The current lot of front-runners are weak.

There is plenty of room. But Conservatives are taking back control of the party. It is a great thing.

Agreed with disneydude. Romney is the front runner, and seems electable, but his problems are many:
    - He has flip-flopped on everything from abortion to gay marriage to health care to TARP to the auto bailouts (twice) to the Iraq War
    - Because of this and other things, he has a real authenticity problem
    - He's a Mormon, which those evangelicals might have a problem with, which gives him some issues in the ever-important south
    - The party establishment really does not like him very much (which is why they urged Christie, then Daniels, now Perry all to jump in...they want someone, ANYONE else)
    - He often chokes when it matters most (that health care speech he gave last month was supposed to turn the tide in that debate, but he did a pretty terrible job with it)
    - He's a one-issue candidate right now basically, putting all his chips on the table in the hopes that the economy stays terrible. If things turn around in 6 months or a year (or even a year and a half), it's hard to see what his platform becomes
    - His path to the nomination is tougher than what most front runners are used to seeing

So Romney may well get the nomination, but I think the only way he beats Obama is if the nation feels absolutely miserable economically, which may not be the case a year and a half from now. Huntsman is a much more formidable general election candidate; luckily for people like me, who want Obama to win, it doesn't look like the GOP is ready to embrace him.

True conservatives are being shunned by the current GOP....they are being pushed out by the radical right-wing wackos....whose only concern is to promote their radical big government social agenda. The GOP has little interest in the principles of true conservatism anymore.

Disagree? Just look at the agenda that the GOP has pursued since regaining the house...it has had little focus on the economy...its all been about promoting the right-wing big government social agenda.
