Is five seconds really enough time to really think and reflect about your enlightenment?
Depends on how you define "enlightenment".

As I would define it, instantaneous enlightenment would mean you would no longer need to think and reflect on things, since you would instantly know everything and understand all the aspects of each thing.

I'd like a little more time, but if I was nearing death, and the five seconds started after I fully digested it, go for it. No need to linger. But it all hinges on how close I was to death.

CC, overrated as a completion, I agree. But the journey is everything. ;)

If I could be completely enlightened - i'd instantly know how to override the 5 seconds. so there ya have it. Saved by enlightenment!

No, I wouldn't.

The point of living is to seek enlightenment. The life you live is the journey towards that enlightenment. I would no more exchange the journey for 5 seconds of enlightenment than I would commit suicide.

I voted yes.

If you're enlightened then you can choose to be reborn with full knowledge retained - if rebirth is what you want.

No, but only because I think I'm working this time.:)

If you could be granted complete enlightenment but you would have to die 5 seconds later, would you accept?

I most certainly would! ;)

No. Enlightenment is a goal but it is the journey to the goal which is important. Besides, enlightenment comes after your physical body dies anyways. Or so I believe.

Don't confuse the enlightment with the light in the tunel (after you die). These are very different things. ;)
