The title says it pretty much.

I think that there is enough political hatred among many of our great citizens of the U.S. who would, if they could, without consequences, be willing to remove, from our planet, all persons who oppose their respective political ideologies, philosophies, or party affiliation.

I think that many believe that reducing our country's political ideologies down to his or her own...would totally eliminate all of our political problems.

What say ye?

of course not. none of us is ever 100% correct, both sides have good ideas.

I can see where there is such sentiment at the extremes of whatever ideology, but then there always was. However, for the majority, I think that they just want society to work reasonably well and have opportunity, enough to eat, and peace in their lives.

I'm pretty confident that I'm right (most of the time), but I also don't have every available option rolling around in my head. A differing viewpoint is essential.

hellz to the no!

Diversity of beliefs, viewpoints, and worldviews are essential to a healthy and democratic society, even if I personally find some of those views to be repulsive.

In contrast, there are many who DO subscribe to my own political philosophy who I DO think should be eradicated for being morons and for giving liberals a bad name (i.e. Code Pink Crazy Commies)

I wouldn't to eradicate them. I would, however, like to decrease them. Healthy conversation is necessary and I agree with parts of probably every philosophy that "opposes" mine so eliminating them wouldn't be desirable. However, I don't want them to have a good chance of getting power since I think as wholes, they hurt the country.

(btw, i'm talking about the US not the world - the rest of the world can do whatever works for them)

Because perspective is key.

Let's note, biodiversity is essential to a healthy ecosystem.

Of course I wouldnt want them eradicated, a lobotomy and a chip implant to make them think just like me would be sufficient

I wouldn't eradicate them. However they would make a good source for cheap labor.

Why would I stop there? My goal is to kill all humans.

Welp...this thread will probably die pretty quick...BUT, I think my question is valid.

People have become vicious and hostile against other who don't subscribe to their perspective political beliefs.

I frequently hear pundits who will say that the "LIBERALS" or CONSERVATIVES...yadda, yadda, yadda. Then wrap every single person's political thinking and personal character (or lack of) into one tiny package...as though they have no mind of their own. All liberal think and act the same. All conservatives think and act the same. And yet, when it gets down to the nitty-gritty. That is completely impossible.

And for people who say: Don't attack the person...just their policies, etc. IMHO, it is IMPOSSIBLE to separate persons from his or her actions, including politicizes are any other behavior that affects other people

All liberal are enemies. All conservative are enemies. That's what those who are in power want all to believe this. IMHO, these ongoing efforts to divide people will eventually succeed in conquering.

People are calling those with opposing views as communist, dictators, theocratic extremist, etc. etc. WHY? This is F****** America!

Speaking of pundits. IMHO...one of the most disturbing things that appears to be happening, so many people are willing to surrender their critical thinking, problem solving, and even for some (not saying a bunch) their coping skills over to popular radio and TV pundits.

Most crazy about "PUNDITS"...which has the Webster definition of:

(1) A learned person: teacher

(2) Person who gives opinions in an authoritative manner

Given the meaning of the above two definitive points, most so-called pundits wouldn't qualify as pundits.

That said, when you read the biographies of our most popular PUNDITS...very few have political experiences in any capacity. It appears that the ones that have the most influence...have the least hands on experience.

And yet...so many people trust these folks to keep them informed. Most people don't seem to even question many of the opinions made...and a lot of those opinions are nothing more than personal opinions masked as fact.

Are people too busy to look at the issues and research information, looking for the most factual information available and then decide for themselves?

Maybe people have become blind and can't distinguish the difference between commentary and facts...?

Dunno...people would be really surprised if they read the biographies of those in media that they are so emphatically cling these pundits every word...without skepticism.

IMHO, I think the worse it yet to come.

That's just politics RM. At the end of the day sane people will see through all the bull****. groupthinkers will buy all the crap.

Both are needed and many more would be better to keep this country on even footing.

we already have illegals for that.

I was thinking more along these lines....

Slavery....get's **** done.

Exactly, I've always thought it as a tug-of-war with no decisive winners.

Pure capitalism is bad, pure socialism is bad. A mix of the two is the best.

God no! If there were no people on the opposite side of the spectrum from me, I'd had no one to argue with! Thus I'd have nothing to do all day :)

OT: anybody know why I can no longer see who voted, despite the fact the poll was set up so that I could see the results?

Deep down, we all would.

This question is similar to asking:

"If you could control time and space, would you steal money from casino vaults, etc?"

Of course on here we'd say no. But deep down, Hell yes we would, with style.
