Exactly, I've always thought it as a tug-of-war with no decisive winners.
Pure capitalism is bad, pure socialism is bad. A mix of the two is the best.
I think that it should be obvious too much of anything is bad...especially in politics. We have two factions who literally have control over our lives. Given the power available to those in the current system. I don't think that there should be any question about one party or political philosophy possessing all of the power. What a nightmare we see, historically and in the present those nations who are held captive by dictators and theocracies.
But the hard core reality is...I genuinely believe to the core of my being that a statistically significant number of people right here in good old America, despite them seeing the devastation caused by despotic systems in other countries...STILL would reduce our government control over to a single party/ideology.
Ignorance is the most dangerous social enemy known to human kind. Just because we are in the 21st century...we are still at risk of being a nation ruled by people put in office by people who are ignorant.
