Let's assume Romney will win the Rep. nomination. Based on what you know right now about these two individuals, what they believe, what they've done, etc., who would you cast your vote for?

If you choose neither one, please don't vote.

I would hold my nose and vote for Romney. Voting for a third party would ensure Obama's win.

I absolutely refuse to vote for either one. A RINO is just as bad as a liberal. If there is a 3rd party candidate I like I will vote for that 3rd party candidate and I hope others who are not satisfied with Obama or Romney will do the same. People should throw out that cowardly/chicken**** mentality that if they vote for somebody they actually like then the other guy will surely win. The only people who should vote for Romney are libs because a RINO is a liberal.

I vote in Alabama. The Electoral College saves me from having to vote for either of those individuals.

Third Party. Maybe I'll write in Daniels anyway.

I'm not sure. I'd have to research more into Romney to make an educated decision. But his treatment of SSM does not sit well with me. Though I do think he would make the best president out of all the republican hopefully so far. Though the only way Romney will win is if more hardcore conservatives vote for him, and not some third party, which I don't know if that would happen. It may swing the election Obama's way.

I'm not going to vote for somebody who can't win. A write-in has been successful how many times? A third party? We need to start nominating people who will support the general consensus, and realizing that we aren't going to find Mr./Mrs.s Perfect, who espouses every single bit of our ideology. We also need to decide which issues are most important, and which are secondary. Which issues are going to directly affect the safety, health, and livelihood of the country, and which issues are going to have a smaller or less influential affect on the lives of the majority. Romney doesn't support everything I stand for, but he's closer than Obama. If it's between the two of them I'l going Romney.

If those are my choices.
I will choose, yet again, to not vote.

I'd vote for Romney and make sure all of my dead relatives did, too. Not that it matters, in Wyoming.

Well, obviously I have different priorities than you. But Romney is good enough for me to choose him over Obama, like I would have preferred to vote for McCain if not for Palin.

Of course, a lot would depend on who his running mate was.

cool....good for obama!

Neither are political reformers but rather party loyalists.
Something we really don't need right now is party loyalists.

On the Republican side, Johnson and Daniels had the best chances for good fiscal reforms.

 if my state was in play it would be different. as it is, i can have more effect pulling the party to the right by threatning it there than I can help them by being one more voter from Alabama.

I am interested in hearing more from Romney, but I haven't heard enough to make a decision yet.

I would vote for the guy who supports universal health care and gay marriage and abortion and TARP and opposes the Iraq War and the Bush tax cuts

So Romney

This poll may as well ask the question "Do you want to eat worm infested apples or moldy apples?"

Romney, from a strictly economic standpoint, I think would make a great President. He has a proven record of taking struggling ventures and turning them around.
My concerns with Romney is that over the last decade, he was made a hard shift to the extreme right in order to pacify the evangelical base of the GOP. If what was being offered was the old Romney who didn't adhere to the right-wing social agenda, I could absolutely support him. However, the danger of having Romney push the anti-choice, anti-gay, big brother right-wing social agenda is too dangerous. Our supreme court is already verging on becoming a political right-wing activist court.....I would need assurances from Romney that he would not allow that to happen before I would even consider voting for him.

I couldn't choose either of them at this point. I really really think Romney is a formidable opponent to Obama, and I think he has some pretty good ideas, though again, he hasn't shared a lot of them. He's big talk, ie "I have business experience" but he doesn't explain what he'd do. His record as Governor was pretty crappy, even if you take "Romneycare" out of the equation. A lot of his hyperbole needs to stop also. Obamacare isn't a takeover of medicine, and saying Obama apologized for America for months, etc. That's just not true and needs to stop.

This would basically be the same choice as the last election. I don't see a lot of differences between McCain and Romney. So I'd once again vote third party or maybe write in Ron Paul. As I'[ve said before, voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. I'm not looking for a perfect candidate, but Romney isn't close to what I'd want. No way, I could in good conscience give him my seal of approval. The Republican Party cannot take my vote for granted any longer. And I think a lot of fiscal conservatives and libertarians feel that way.

I refuse to vote for either one. As far as I can tell, Romney and Obama have pretty much exactly the same policies on every issue, so it's not even worth voting for Obama to make sure someone worse doesnt win. I might vote for some third party candidate if there's a decent one. Maybe the communist party will run someone...

I'm not surprised but this is in conflict with all the latest polls that show Obama's numbers at headed down the drain where he and they belong.

I'd be tempted with Romney. That being said, while I thought the man had questionable direction (and not of cunning), Romney might be more up my alley. Now, with Obama, I would not really agree with his domestic policies, but on foreign policy, despite a few things, I like what he has done. In reality, I would also be skeptical of even Ron Paul because I think outside reality prevents whatever grand perception we have about a politician's so-called platform. I'm not much of an idealist, so when I hear about a new candidate that promises so much that is so different from "Washington," I know it is not going to happen, but I just hope the candidate realizes that or comes to the realization shortly after gaining power, because there's only so much Utopianism I am willing to endure.

Without a doubt the answer has to be neither.

NEITHER I think Romney is useless. Obama is illegal but the most brilliant soldier ever.

Well, the oysters wouldn't even do anything, and Obama... also wouldn't do anything. I call it a tie.
