I haven't read this entire thread.. So if this was mentioned.. Sorry..
Should fathers have any rights or say in the abortion of a child?? As it is right now, a woman can decided to keep the baby and force him to pay child support for the next 18 years.. Or simply abort it and be done with the whole thing.. He really has no say at all currently..
Yes, a father should be able to force her to have the child, and then raise it on his own.. Yes, she should then be forced to pay child support..
Or.. Both parents have an abortion option.. Meaning he can waive his parental rights and be free from paying child support.. Much like a women does when she has an abortion.. The law currently favors the mothers.. To the point of almost being criminal in my opinion..
Should he take the sign down?? No.. While I am not sure I like the way it is worded.. He has every right as that babies father to express his views about abortion or her having an abortion.. If he can be stuck with 18 years of child support on her whim, she can live with a little embarrassment caused by a billboard..
As for the law?? It should support him 100%.. For the reasons mentioned above..
It's cases like these that really test my principles. I want to say that this man requires intensive therapy and that he should be held in a supervised facility until he's capable of acting like a human being. I want to believe that. But what I really think is that he should be forced to paint over the billboard by hand and then pay, out of his own pocket, for a billboard with his name and picture and the slogan "I HARASS WOMEN" to remain in place for a minimum of the amount of time the original billboard was displayed, and then until the advertising company feels like replacing it.
I suppose he could probably get the therapy he needs after that.
1. It's obvious harassment
2. It's libel
3. It's an attempt at a disclosure of (alleged) medical records of someone else
Her name is mentioned on the billboard (NANI is a fake acronym which just happens to be her first name).
Also, something of note, the father can decide to use a condom or simply not have sex with the woman in the first place, I'd call that plenty of say. By your logic, a woman should be able to force the man to not wear a condom (if she wants the child, then who is he to say that she can't have it?).

My next question to those that voted "no" is what other speech are you folks willing to sacrifice? Perhaps Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States should have their opinions redacted, for they are public.
Now, the use of "exterminate" brings to mind Mengele type behavior, and though I cannot say what was on the Justice's mind at the time of writing it, I wouldn't doubt the use connotes that gruesome, base association.
I cannot accept the Court investing mothers and doctors with a constitutional right to exterminate human life.

Perhaps, abortion supporters uncomfortable with being challenged head on, the dissent of Justice White in Roe v. Wade should be redacted, or perhaps we should have some Language Polizei or Language Tzar address his statement so it doesn't offend those who think killing unborn life is more palatable than his assertion of extermination.

I AM DEPLORABLE.
NEVER CRIMINAL HILLARY (S-NY)
It's despicable, but falls under the category of protected speech. I detest this kind of idiocy, but the repurcussions of banning it is even more unpalatable.

I believe he should be forced to pay out of his own pocket for an ad in the same spot with his face and name and the slogan "I HARASS WOMEN", to be displayed for the same length of time as the original ad is displayed until he is forced to take it down.
In addition to court-ordered therapy.
