    Evolution requires that life had to have started somehow, that's all. Evolution doesn't say how life began. We don't know how life began. Evolution doesn't require that there be no god. Evolution only requires evidence that life as we know it gradually changed over the eons, that's all. The fossil record is clear: The theory of evolution is how life forms as we know them today came to be.

    How it started, we don't know. Maybe god did it. Maybe life was seeded from space. Maybe the first organisms did come out of a primordial organic soup. Maybe god helped them along. Maybe, maybe, maybe... we don't know.

    We don't have to discredit what we do know in order to accept that there are things that we do not know.
