I'm an Independent, and I love both! I've had dogs and cats all my life, and loved them all equally. I only have cats now because I'm too ill to give a frisky pup the exercise and attention it needs.

Not true. They also make for some excellent target practice.

Little bastards can run like hell if you just get close with the first shot. Makes succeeding shots more of a challenge.

Interesting. So far there doesn't seem to be any correlation between liberalism and preference for dogs or cats, but a strong correlation between conservatism and preferring dogs.

But it's not a big enough sample size to judge yet. More votes!

Cons are traditionalists. Dogs are the very symbol of fidelity, home and hearth.

Independent means if you have to go away for the day, the cat tolerates it and does not spaz out like a dog does.
Dogs only spaz out if you don't take care of them well. My dog NEVER spazes and easily tolerates people being away for a long time. And, unlike cats, is always glad to see us when we get home.

I'm conservative, in the true sense of the word, and while I do probably prefer dogs, I have and like both.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I'm independent on my political views (far right on some, far left on others, a little right on some, a little left on others, sometimes outside both boxes).

I like fluffy cats with long tails and really big dogs. Plan on getting a couple of big dogs and 1 or 2 cats once we get out of military housing.

That's because the cat's waiting for you to die so it can eat you.

I am neither and I have no use for animals I can't eat. Being polite with my friends' pets is about the extent of my patience.
