You can say EVENTUALLY they will find it but that isnt fair either if they are delayed in their ablity to have equal oppurtunity.

The first part I call total BS on and If i was on the jury Id never buy it.

Efficient and reducing waste is meaningless to me.
I only want to hire skinny white males then, I feel the are the most efficient, dont eat a lot like fat people so they will do more work and create less waste and Ill never have to worry about them taking maternal leave.

No of course my example is WAY over the top for humor purposes but the point is who gets to debate efficiency and waste? If its not a job requirement I dont buy it.
I feel the only reason most places have went by the way on only taking applications via online is due to cost. Forget that a lot of people do not have computers much less know how to type. Sure some will argue if you cannot use a computer that the company will not hire you anyways but what about the old school folks that have no wish to have a computer or be on one? Should they not have a legal right to a paper application?

I know if you are disabled you can seek out a manager that will make sure someone assist you with being able to apply for work at that workplace so maybe this is what everyone without a computer should do and then we will see how cost effective it is for them if more people did that.

You should not have to own a computer nor be forced to go anywhere else to put in for gainful employment other than the actual place you are seeking that gainful employment. I am gonna stop now before I go into an offtopic rant about temporary job services

well you don't have to sell me on it, while i don't think you could win civil rights its definitely wrong and unfair and discriminatory. Thats exactly why my company decided to do on line apps mostly but we still accept the occasional hard-copy. Its whats right.

I haven't job hunted in 16 years but don't you kind of have to go to the employer at some point? Many employers make PCs available on site for that purpose. I know Target does because I see the kiosk as soon as I walk in.

Job hunting requires some hustle. Always has and always will. Getting to a PC should not be an insurmountable obstacle. In fact, if i had to job hunt, I would begin on one.

Its simply not true to say its only people that dont care.
Every DHS/CPA/SSA/DHA office has the means to assist and provide information for people needing to find employment - which would include online access.

If someone can *get* to work then why can't they *get* to one of these many areas as well?

I didn't have my own personal computer for years and still managed just fine via state programs *shrug*

Again thats you and what you could do and not everyone else. WHy do peopls assum that thier experiences are everyone elses?

What if they work alread and just want a better job but cant afford to miss a day?
I could make a list of tons of REALISTIC reasons.

also I find it hilarious how many people brought up cyber cafes (not saying you Aunt SPiker these are just random points) and black berries, I dont know where everyone lives but im about 30-40 mins south of pittsburgh and theres no "cyber cafes" LMAO a couple spots here offer free wi-fi but you still need a laptop or something to access it? and black berries? when did all poor people start having blackberries and if they do they also have unlimited data? hahahahaha

but its ME thats being unrealistic thinking companies should have no issues with accepting a couple hard copies every other months to give everyone an equal chance. LOL

Im fine with any company that offers this on site, mine does.
But that also doesnt change the fact not everyone has a pc or access.

How is it lazy to wish to pick up a pen and WRITE oldschool style rather than having to type? I happen to feel it is the other way around.

Well, alright, then write your congressman or whatever you need to do to fix it, but it does NOT violate EEOC regs.

    That's my whole thing.

Well - I still dont' like online applications. I refused to fill them out - not worth my time if they didn't want to MEET me face to face at the initial hand-over. . . . so I guess I'm playing devil's advocate
