You voted for Obama because he was in line with your beliefs...

I think President Obama has done things that presidents have been trying to do for decades.
Do you refer to presidents like Hugo Chavez?
Examples, health care reform and student loan reform.
And what could be more American than taking over the health care industry and nationalizing student loans? What could possibly go wrong with having the government provide money to college students? Are we incubating a generations of future democrats who naturally look to the government for everything?

Because the will of the people demands it. We have let self-centered businessmen control far too much of our daily lives for far too long, and now we want people who we actually elected to be the ones doing it. Granted, it would be better if no one controlled some of these things... but the two you mention here do not fit that category.

Can't answer, didn't vote for him...but at least this poll seems more objective than most, regarding the poll choices...so kudos.

Indeed. I didn't vote for him because I thought he'd be like Bush. And look where we are now. It's the 3nd year of Bush's third term.

I understand that's how Republicans and Conservatives think since they often vote as a bloc, but Democrats and Liberals generally don't. That's why it took a year to pass healthcare. If Democrats merely rubber stamped everything and anything Obama wanted, they would have passed that bill immediately.

Like how Dubya was able to rack up obscene deficit spending without any oversight whatsoever by his rubber stamp Republican Congress?

Btw, zimmer is kind of like Conservative. Just more prone to childish outbursts.

Obama's party controlled Congress... he could have achieved most anything and they did not need ONE republican vote.

That's because you don't understand the makeup of the Democratic Party and why the Republican party has become in some ways ideologically pure during the Bush years. Nor do you even care to educate yourself on anything.

Unlike the Republican party which systematically purged REAL fiscal conservatives left and right between 2001 and 2007 replacing them with politicians who largely went along with the party line, Democrats never had such a party cleaning. Democrats from Virgina don't agree with Democrats from California. But the GOP aside from a few independently minded do walk in stride on most issues.

So a Democrat Congress with those facts in mind would have had a hard time passing such a bill. Unlike the rubber stamp that Bush had during the all GOP years.

You voted for Obama because he was in line with your beliefs and...

1. You are disappointed because he went too far, didn't go far enough, did not fulfill the"No Red State, No Blue State, but the United States"... or some other reason...

or...

2. You are not disappointed.

3. You're of mixed feelings.

I won't parse the reasons, as there are scores. You can explain them if you like.

.

Disappointed, if I had to do it over again, I would have voted for Hillary as she would have likely taken a harder stance and not given in so easily on so many issues.

Because the will of the people demands it.
Nonsense. Presidents, including the one term president Obama, may not trample on the property rights of citizens because other citizens want more hand outs.

We have let self-centered businessmen control far too much of our daily lives for far too long, and now we want people who we actually elected to be the ones doing it.
Awesome. What power does any business owner have over you? Can he send you off to war? Can he tax you? Can he arrest you? No. But he does provide an enormous array of goods and services for you that greatly improve the quality of your life.
Politicians, on the other hand can do a huge amount of damage to you. Just as they are doing to you right now.

Its not a matter of "getting a ruling that you like".....Citizens united was judicial activism at its absolute worst (as your link indicates). Those justices should be ashamed and it was good to see Obama have the spine to tell them that they should not be politicizing the Supreme Court.
You don't really like that whole freedom of speech thing do you? There is that darned Constitution getting in the way of absolute state power once again.

No, instead they control access to food, shelter, medicine. They control the price of education, and the availability of work to earn a living. They control how much of the country suffers in poverty. They control our sources of information. They decide what news is published and what is not. And with all their wealth and influence, businessmen buy up politicians.

In answer to your three questions: No, but no politician can, either. Yes, by controlling prices, only instead of the money being used to benefit the population, it just goes into his pocket. Yes, by using his wealth and power to compel politicians into passing laws that take away my rights and criminalize activities that he thinks will take away his profits. Why do you think all of this massive anti-piracy legislation is going on? Do you think that the people demand it? Do you foolishly believe that the industries are suffering from internet piracy? No, it comes from the wealthy owners wanting more and more money.

No right on paper means anything unless you have the power to exercise it. We have rights in our interactions with government. We have none in our interactions with business, save those that we use government to safeguard. And those latter rights are dwindling.

I think he is trying too hard to make everyone happy, he needs to stop trying to compromise and just do what he thinks is best for the country instead of what he thinks will get him elected.

No, instead they control access to food, shelter, medicine.
You don't seem to understand very much. Life for example. Businesses are eager for your business. You need only come and make your selections. Then pay for them.
They control the price of education, and the availability of work to earn a living.
Government interference may usually be found where the prices are high and choices are limited. You are free to start a business, constrained only by government.
They control how much of the country suffers in poverty. They control our sources of information.
Government....not business, sets the regulation and the tax rates that encourage or discourage business creation. Move away from your dark, liberal hate and into the light of conservatism.
They decide what news is published and what is not.
Maybe someone should show you this new thing, we call it the Internet. Anyone can publish. And anyone does.
And with all their wealth and influence, businessmen buy up politicians.
Perhaps. Politicians shake down businesses. They use the tax code. Perhaps now is a good time to join me in pushing for the Fair tax.

...by controlling prices, only instead of the money being used to benefit the population, it just goes into his pocket.
Do you buy things? Do you benefit from your purchases? Was it a voluntary exchange?
Why do you think all of this massive anti-piracy legislation is going on?
Just guessing but perhaps it is due to piracy? Do you think you have a right to steal the work of others? If so why?
Do you think that the people demand it?
I see the dirty ugliness of your spirit peaking through. Do you believe you should be able to steal whatever your heart desires?
Do you foolishly believe that the industries are suffering from internet piracy? No, it comes from the wealthy owners wanting more and more money.
Government exists to help us to protect our property from people just like you. It is clear why we need it.

You have so little respect for your country and i's system of Government that your avatar mocks your President. How can we take this poll seriously?

In the past you have posted cartoons of President Obama depicted as a monkey--why would you think you're worthy of a serious response or discussion on Obama's policies?

either you control the situation or the situation controls you. some people blame their lack of control on some "powerful forces" that are allied against them. At one time those forces were "free masons" than "Papists" then "Jewish Bankers" and "Skull and Bonesmen" and "Trilateral Commission Members"

Corporations are often a target too
