There has been some talk about Palin running for president or as a VP again. My question is if you think Sarah Palin could beat Barack Obama in a presidential race either as the presidential candidate or if she has a shot beating him as the VP candidate along another Republican.

Palin has no chance in hell of beating Obama. Not because Obama is so good its because its Palin. She HELPED Obama win the first time.

Yes at times Palin was treated unfairly but that doesn't change the fact that she has made many idiotic statements and HELPED many people make her look foolish. VP or ANYTHING in the White House is way to high for here.

Her followers are legion. If he hasn't turned things around by the time election occurs, she could take it. Anybody could, really.

They are just loud, not that many people actually think she would be a good president.

True, but there's a fair amount of spite and voting the party line involved as well. I know that people will vote for her as long as they're voting against him. Sad, but true.

That's only the extreme republicans, the moderate conservatives, and independents won't vote for her.

Exactly I know many Reps that wish she would disappear. Shes nice for rallies but the people she rallys arent really wanted except in EXTRA votes. So she is more valuable rallying not running, the extra votes she would bring running wouldn't matter compared to the votes shed lose. She would also drive away the majority of Inds and Dems that might think of voting for that side. cause they would head for the hills with her on the ticket.

She would lose. If nothing else, the fact that she quit as governor of Alaska after 2½ years seals it.

Here's what I would think of Palin if I were a Rep/con.

She's good at outlining conservative ideas and ideals, but when it comes to breaking down and explaining the complex and nuanced problems that our country faces both at home and abroad, and solutions to these problems, she fails completely. She's a good TV personality and a great walking talking point, but that's about it.

The GOP will never, ever, never allow Palin to be nominated. Can't happen. Won't happen. Never happen.

Palin has the political brains of an aardvark. There's no secret there. She is a media phenom. She IS bright enough to know she can ride that media wave to more money. The GOP will allow her to shuck and jive as long as her doing so deflects the public from the real truth and that is the GOP is only slightly worse off than the Democrats in fielding someone who isn't a complete zeroid in 2012.

Obama is crap. He sold out hardcore Democrats a year ago. HOWEVER, Palin has no chance at beating Obama. As pissed as Democrats are at Obama, as dissatisfied as centrists are with Obama, as disgusted as Independents are with Obama most will not cross over and vote for Palin. Not a chance in hell. On top of that many Republicans won't vote for Palin. Bottom line? She can't beat Obama. She'll never get the nomination from the GOP.

The GOP is already sucking hind tit. That's pretty bad considering how disappointing Obama has been! Palin isn't it and she has already been told that the party will not support her nomination. Her plan is to run for John Kyl's seat. As completely hosed up as Arizona is Palin will not even get Kyl's seat in Arizona. Not a chance.

I would imagine hardcore Dems want her on the Republican ticket because it guarantees them victory. I know I shouldn't speak in absolutes buts its the way I feel, its my opinion and haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise.

A lot of liberals feel this way, but I don't. I have many friends my age who are repubs/cons and I would completely embarrassed for them and their party if they chose someone like Palin over, say, a Mitt Romney. If Palin gets the nomination there is something seriously wrong with the GOP (and our country) and its future.

She wouldn't beat him. She would probably get a decent percentage of the vote (the party line voters who would vote for pretty much anyone the repubs ran), but she would lose badly among independents and swing voters.

Can't say I disagree one bit, I agree IMO it would be embarrassing to the country but I was just answering the question the best I could but you make a very valid point. ;)
 
No, I don't think she could beat him. She shouldn't run at all. I hope she's just trying to get the AZ Congressional seat....

By the way, if she does run and is the nominee, I will vote for her in a second over Obama.

It was a fluke she got picked by McCain the first time.

The Reps knew that after 8yrs of the Bush disaster there was no way they could win.
They didn't even let Bush come to the convention.

So they gave the ring to their sacrifical lamb, John McCain. They gave him crap for advisors as seen by blunders as his stunt to stop the campaign and to go to Washington to cheerlead the Wall Street bailout. Then the biggest blunder was they let him pick Palin...............

She will be a cheerleader but never a quarterback.
