When you get outside the urban areas, they are beautiful places to see and be in... and if you want to live the relaxing life, go to the coast in Hengchun or the east coast. Taipei is not Taiwan.

But I agree, scooter riders are nuts...

I worked at the aquarium, remember? And Hengchun was my lifeline to real food since they didn't have a proper cafeteria on campus. I've spent more time in rural areas of Taiwan than urban areas and it's all equally hot and icky.

Same here. Man! I NEVER slept as hard as I did up at my grandma's cabin, on Lake Pokegama.

The Left always "threatens" to expatriate themselves, like when Alec Hasbeen Baldwin threatened to leave is Bush was elected in 2000.

Like all libs, they're all talk, no action. We Americans were eagerly awaiting the day when the gate would slam hard on Baldwin's departing ass, but it didn't happen.

Tres bizarre post. This poll has nothing to do with lean. At least it didn't, until you took a dump in it.

No, you mistaken Taiwan for South Korea. South Korea excels at both sports

I live in Taiwan. I know Taiwan excels at the two sports. Though, the badminton world powers now are China, Indonesia and Denmark. Taiwan and South Korea are both second-tier badminton powers. South Korea and Taiwan are generally regarded as two of the top taekwondo nations in the world. Though, the South Koreans have to cheat...

I love visiting Hengchun in the winter. In the summer, I like the mountains. I went to Sanyi with my friends for running training on Sunday. Beautiful morning for a mountain run... 21 degrees with low humidity. This coming weekend, we are riding our bikes to Sun Moon Lake and then plan to swim in the lake... also another nice summer spot, if you know where to avoid the Chinese tourists...

Taking the Grand boy to a cabin next week. I hope he loves it as much as we do. ;)

*cold sweat*

Just sayin'

Actually, Taiwan is much better at badminton and taekwondo than "ping pong".

You mean we should refer to it as table tennis? lol

To many people want to sit back and say that Michael Moore is bias, but don't want to make the effort to prove him wrong.. They don't want to acknowlege a source of information.. He is just an american trying to educate the rest us in hopes that we can vote for some change..

Seriously? lol

This isn't the nation I grew up in.. Sometimes I wonder where that nation went..

Ok, old-timer.

Anyway, I think the US is #1 but I plan to settle in Kenya in a few years.

Sometimes, I get - not scared, but really concerned that things could just go ass-over-teakettle here, and I'd rather not be around when it happens.

I think things could go from crap to ZOMFG!!! quick fast and in a hurry actually...but most likely in major cities. I no longer live in California, I live fairly rural, so if it ever goes TU, well...I'll hear about it on the shortwave I reckon. Im not leaving.

I've always thought about various locations in Europe, mostly the Netherlands

He will. And he'll remember forever (as an old fart, I know these things ;)).
