A Politically Incorrect Question:

The last twenty years we can read only bad things about South Africa. well-educated people, engineers, businesspeople, whites, almost everybody with sound brain try to escape from this twenty years ago still rich country. Today its President possesses ten womans, the country itself has one of the highest Murder Rates in the World, 90 % of country are No-Go areas for the wealthy people and whites. Additionally there is a very high unemployment rate. Also, do you believe that South Africa will share the fate of Zimbabwe or not, please vote and explain why South Africa has been so declined.

Honestly, I've never heard o South Africa being so bad off! If people were still being discriminated against like that, especially whites, I'd have heard about it.

PS You need to learn some grammar. Badly.

Waits for Jet to see this thread

No. South Africa has some serious problems, including with its governance...but it's hardly run by a nut like Robert Mugabe. South Africa's economy is actually developing pretty quickly, whereas Zimbabwe's economy absolutely cratered following years of one of the worst bouts of hyperinflation in the history of the world.

Jacob Zuma and the ANC have not been doing the greatest job at governing, granted, but you have to look where South Africa was twenty years ago. It appeared as a middle or high income country then, because it was - if you were White. Since then, Whites have still been doing pretty well, but social problems have become much more visible to the outside world. This is the nature of authoritarian regimes. They often have problems just as bad, usually worse, than democracies, but their governments are better at hiding them.

I read in National Geographic a year ago, that if counted as its own country, South Africa's Whites would rank 25th in the human development index, and Blacks would rank 129th. The lot of Blacks has improved, but when you are dealing with the legacy of 50 years of some of the worst institutional racism in history, deep scars are going to be left. You don't recover from that overnight.

I could care less what happens to South Africa.
