Atheist

The goal of teaching evolution has nothing to do with making people better citizens or teaching them morals, but giving them knowledge about how the world works.
Well children graduating from High School and from College will get a traffic ticket and they have no idea how to go to Court, how to represent their self just for a simple traffic ticket, and the USA calls itself as a "Nation of Laws" and yet we do not teach even the basics of law which every person could use, but instead the students are taught about the utterly useless subject of Evolution.

The school graduates do not know how the electricity in a house works so they can not reset a blown fuse, and they are not taught simple plumbing just to unstop the toilet, but instead the students are taught about the utterly useless subject of Evolution.

The schools do not teach about politics when the Country is to be an informed democracy, but instead the students are taught about the utterly useless subject of Evolution.

Teach every student First-Aid and about diseases, but instead the students are taught about the utterly useless subject of Evolution.

Teach them about ethics and morality - certainly not, but instead the students are taught about the utterly useless subject of Evolution.

And of course the list of incompetent graduate subjects goes on and on, so what is the point of teaching the Evolution?

The point is just to brainwash the students into the unsocial and weak doctrine of the Atheist.

Not believing in the existence of imaginary beings is not a doctrine.

So you're saying they should remove one small section of a biology curriculum, and replace it with all of those?

Why teach them the utterly useless idea of a god creating the universe?

If you have a child or know a child (that is old enough that they should be changing fuses) that has to go to school to reset a fuse, well, perhaps you're right about evolution, it will be a waste of time for them.

Schools, most not all, teach some form of Civics, though it's not like we learned in school. I suspect that has a lot more to do with our polarized political climate rather than the inability or desire to teach it. Politics, you want politics taught in schools? Sanity check.

There are classes for First Aid, both in school and out of it.

Ethics is pretty advanced for grade school and it's a class you can take in college.

Speaking of brainwashed....Pot meet Kettle.

You keep saying evolution is useless, but just like teaching a child that lighting is not what happens when god is angry, something believed by adults a few thousand years ago, or that the moons surface isn't made of cheese, or that dust isn't made by the sun when you open the curtains on a bright sunny day, these are facts, cold hard facts about the world. Understanding your world is the best way to live in it without fear that comes from a lack of understanding, or more importantly that someone like you would tell a child that god got pissed at the first man and woman made from dirt cuz they ate an apple that he put in front of them after speaking to a talking snake. Now we are all doomed unless we kiss his celestial ass......Cuz yea, that's not brainwashing. That's something we all really, really need to know.

And the Atheist version of Evolution is a doctrine of Atheism.

I never suggested that we teach God or God creating the universe.

What I said was to teach a real education instead of teaching the trash of Evolution. See post # 151 =

So you're saying they should remove one small section of a biology curriculum, and replace it with all of those?
No.

What I do say is that teaching Evolution in the schools is teaching a useless and worthless doctrine which has no redeemable value at all.

As such the graduate students have very little real knowledge for life or for our society, and our schools could start teaching a real education, but instead the graduates are brainwashed into the useless and worthless concept of Evolution.

All you are really saying here is that you approve of taking the children of other people in the schools and teaching (brainwashing) the students in opposition to their own parents and in opposition to the social norm.

For some person like your self to promote that is unfortunately understandable, but for the Government to do that is reprehensible.

The flaw there is that evolution is not trash. See science and facts.

You're right; evolution isn't "trash." Neither is the belief in a supreme being incompatible with evolution. I have never experienced any tension between my faith and scientific fact. In fact, I think scientific discovery is a testimony to the glorious, unimaginable, and limitless creativity of God.

I respect your point of view.

It was a poor choice of words on my part to call Evolution as trash since I see Evolution as a proof of the Intelligent Design and of a Creator God, so Evolution in that way is not trash.

What I meant is that Evolution is trashy education, and again "trashy" is a poor choice of words, as Evolution is just useless and worthless information to teach in schools as it does nothing to improve the student.

I agree with this completely.

Cheers.

In your opinion. What you lack is proof.

I disagree. I enjoyed learning about evolution. If a a child asks how we got here telling them by courtesy of an imaginary creator god would be trashy.

The anger against evolution is mystifying. Evolution is not an "atheist" creation. It is 100+ years of science, observation, testing, analysis, hypothesis, study, and proof. If someone honestly looks at the clear evidence of the proof of evolution and dismisses it, they are being willfully ignorant. If you want to teach creationism, do it in your church or your church run school, keep it out of public school, our kids deserve to be taught science, not stale dogma.

Very true. Atheism has nothing to do with evolution. A religious person is free to believe that evolution was set in motion by some god or other. What they lack is proof of that.

There is no anger against Evolution, or at least none has been expressed in this discussion.

And no one here is saying to teach Creationism in this discussion.

And it is really tiring when Atheist try to distant their self from the Evolution as like what are they hiding from? and who could they think are being fooled?

School students need to be taught things which improve the person and gives then info and skills which can be used in life and in society, while teaching Evolution does none of that.

Instead the students are being brainwashed into that dead and empty concept of Atheism.

Far from it, I don't distance myself from evolution. But I embrace the science of evolution not as an agnostic/atheist, but as a thinking being. I don't "believe" in evolution, I accept it as scientific fact.

Students need to be taught established factual science, not some mythical fables from the bible that some think are science.

So...we shouldn't teach scientific theories which best support the observables if you don't like what those theories are?

Except that Evolution is incomplete, as science does not know how the life began.

Of course there are theories and lots of speculation about the beginning of life but nothing solid yet.

Otherwise that life evolves and humans evolve is indeed an obvious fact.

There is just no justification to teach that worthless info in school when the students could be taught something useful.

And I do not want the Bible taught in schools, because no one has the Bible understood correctly either.

Evolution is not about the beginning of the universe, that is cosmology.

Of course, creationists always punt when asked who created god. (a miracle!!!!!)

Evolution happens, whether you accept it or not.

No.

For some person like your self to promote that is unfortunately understandable, but for the Government to do that is reprehensible.

So it's pointless to respond to your dribble, let's cut to the quick on this matter....

The only reason you oppose it is because instead of accepting a theory based on evidence and changing your mind, you've decided that the world should conform to what you believe so you can avoid the resulting cognitive dissonance. The idea that you accept evolution (something that I've read in your last few posts) with the caveat that it's a mechanism created by a god is just a convenient way to avoid the reality of it and avoid the incredible mental discomfort that comes with having to re-evaluate your beliefs. It's hard and I sympathize with you, but that is what happens when you internalize your ideas and make them part of your identity. Shedding false ideas means having to let go of part of the person you identify as.

This has nothing to do with good or bad ideas, god or no god, it's about changing your perception of the world to fit your idea of it, rather than let the reality of the world shape who you are.

I was going to say this as well, what are we talking here a chapter in biology maybe in 8th grade and again in one year of biology class in high school? Maybe 2 weeks of study in 5 years of school...

Instead the students are being brainwashed into that dead and empty concept of Atheism.

Atheism is the default position. You were not born believing in a creator god. You still have to provide evidence of this creator god of yours.

I can not see any reason why NOT to cut out all of the useless teachings and start teaching realistic education. - - After all that was the old idea of having schools.

The thing about Atheism (regardless of Evolution) is that Atheism is a dead and empty ideology, because it promotes NOTHING, and in fact Atheism takes away the higher values and replaces morality with nothing.

Teaching our society to be Atheist is teaching the people to be weak and shallow without integrity and having low character, so that calling Atheism as being the TRUTH is nothing when in fact Atheism is brainwashing the people with that dead and empty ideology.

Call religion as a "myth" all one wants, but religion teaches higher values and higher standards and it builds integrity in the person.

Atheism promotes the lowest of human realities which is unprincipled patriotism and blind loyalty to their Country, and it is hard to stoop lower then that.

I have given proof of God many times and especially to your self, but this thread is about Atheist.

Here is one of many times where I give specific proof and it is in this thread too, on page 5 post # 48, link here =
