Science Advances to Improve Life - Religion Remains Frozen For Thousans of Years

well, it sure puts the kibosh on the whole compulsory aspect.

No it doesn't, the bible still commands for the death of nonbelievers, witches, and anyone who believes in a different god. The bible is compulsory. Get over it.

In any event, let's compile a list of the top 5 that will kill non-believers

1: Radical Islamists
2: Radical Islamists
3: Radical Islamists
4: Radical Islamists
5: Radical Islamists

You also forget the Ku Klux Klan, Northern Ireland paramilitaries, and the Army of God. But Semantics, amirite?

nobody else, not even mainstream Muslims are gonna kill you for not believing.... you're pretty safe, as long as you don't find yourself around radical Islamist.

So I don't have to worry about Radical Christians?

so your beef is with the radical Islamist.... good, there's something we can agree on.:)

No, all the religions are pretty much silly and damaging to reason and logic.

But hey, if you need it....

none of those will kill you for not believing or for being an atheist....the AOG might give you problems if you are an abortion provider, though.

nope... but if that is what floats your boat, worry away.

you'll have to come with something much better than an atheists-R-us bumper sticker slogan.

ya see, i'm not one of those folks who believes religion and science are at odds.... I subscribe to the non-overlapping magisteria view.
unlike some folks, I don't see a need to choose between the two when you can adhere to and support both... such false choices, as it were, are neither logical nor rational.

Just keep faith and dogma out of actual science.

Now, that depends on who you listen to. There are certain people who rant that 'unless you choose Jesus as your lord and savior you are going down into the pit'. Of course, no one takes that seriously. However, that kind of threat is extortion. Of course, without any teeth to back it up.

Then there's the stiff-necked crowd who ignores the warnings.

I was a Catholic, but I am now an Atheist.

If you had ever been born-again with the awesome Holy Spirit you would have known it was real and wouldn't be where you are today.

No thanks, I'll believe god when I see it. Until then it's all hogwash and nonsense to me.

Thank you for proving a sample of what I was talking about.

When it comes to Biblical theology, and especially the New Testament, you're still completely in the dark.

Science is a tool, that's what tools do, ease the human experience and enhance the human condition. You needed to put that in writing?

Outside of that, your post is just more anti-theist drivel. Been there, done that.

Science is anything but a tool, how can it be a tool if it does not yet have an answer?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'We don't know everything so we can't know anything' is apologetics bullcrap.

That's rich. It's religion that keeps believers in the Dark Ages.

Science has done some good things, also bad things. It advances to improve life, and also destroys life.

Thanks to science, which is the foundation of mechanization and industrialism, we are now able to destroy the world with nuclear technology. Industrialization (progress) without wise restraint has brought global warming, and mass extinction. Science advances to destroy life... all life.

Science and religion are fundamentally the same. They both start with a person imposing their own morality on the field, and not the other way around. Has been that way since the beginning of time. People inclined to do good or evil will do good or evil no matter what they use to rationalize their acts to others.
