I know you do, sincerely. I've seen it. You didn't see any humor in that pic in the OP? It really seems pretty harmless. Besides, if we're going to be accused of having such thin skin (and sometimes we probably do) wouldn't that imply that our critics are made of sterner stuff than to be insulted by a harmless pic like that?

When I say bigot I'm talking about those who judge (Or misjudge.) all members of a group by the actions of a few members of that group. We see a lot of that on the internet and in life in general, unfortunately.

Actually I do see a little humor in that picture.

It also reminded me that, as Missouri Mule said, "there's a live human being on the other side of that computer screen"!

We're not talking to our computer, we're talking to(Or screaming at.) that person.




We all (Including me.) should try to disagree without being disagreeable.

That should be possible most of the time, eh? :roll:

I was an atheist for 20 years. It makes me uniquely qualified to understand how lost you are. Calling others ignorant because of what you don't understand is delicious irony but from where you are you can't see it. All I can say is when you DO see it it is amazing, but there is no way to explain it, especially to someone who feels so sure they are right. But I have been where you are.

Oh they are great, probably the best American chocolate there is. People say the Swiss and the Belgians make the best chocolate but in my view, See's chocolates ranks right up there with them. :chew:

It's funny, I don't see the OP cartoon as appropriate to the situation at all.
Because basically it's only Christians vs Atheists here.
The Irony being Christians don't believe in ie, Hinduism either!
(they'd be yelling at each other if we did, and both would be yelling at Muslims, etc.)

What's the problem? 20 years not long enough to be down with the struggle? Or are you assuming that atheists simply know better? I was the "I don't believe in God and neither should you, and here is why" guy. I see the "gotcha" games atheists play with scripture without context because I used to do it too. My parents raised us Catholic. Need I say more? Big difference between religion and faith. You say I was never an atheist, I say I never knew what faith was as a Catholic. When you figure it out it's amazing.

This old threadbare argument wears me out. Number one, how do you know what I believe and what I don't believe? Atheists never seem to want to ask you what you believe, they would rather tell you what you believe so as to better construct their straw men. So much for your "I just believe in one less god than you do" BS. You have no idea of how I view other religious beliefs. I would argue that I am way more tolerant than you are, even though that's admittedly not saying much.

As far as creation beliefs go, it sounds a bit like the chicken and egg argument, and it's just about as important, since we ARE here, that is indisputable.

And with that, feel free to resume yelling at your computer.
