Evidence that Man wrote the Bible, not God.

I can't answer for Goshin, who I suspect has different thoughts on the subject of God from my own thoughts.

For starters, find any example of my saying that God is just and loving, or that God is fair, or that it punishes, or that it damns people to anything bad. Find me the examples you accuse me of, and we will have the discussion. I really get tired of being accused of saying something which I did not state.

Second, I never have asked you to believe ANYTHING whatsoever. What you believe makes no difference to me, just as what I believe should make no difference to you.
I didn't accuse you of believing any of that. I simply knew both of you were Christians so I posed a simple, honest question that I genuinely want to understand. If you'd rather get offended than discuss it I'll just **** off.

We all know today that there is no such thing as magic and there never has been. Despite what people believed 2000 years ago or even 200 years ago. And yet the bible, both new and old, mentions magic several times either by mentioning certain people (Egypts Pharoh who's magicians couldn't tell him the meaning of his dreams so he called for Joseph for instance) or by simply saying to not associate with such as practice "sorcery".

Why would God, who people say wrote the bible even mention sorcery if such a thing does not exist?

god isnt author but editor and bible was written by men who were inspired by god.

No it's not.

Yes it is.

"Magical thinking is the attribution of causal relationships between actions and events where scientific consensus says that there are none. In religion, folk religion, and superstition beliefs, the correlation posited is often between religious ritual, prayer, sacrifice, or the observance of a taboo, and an expected benefit or recompense...."

I did grow up in a christian home. That being said, you are aware that my religious ideas have changed, as you and I have discussed this before. you believe what you do, based on how your mind and reasoning works. You know that I have no need nor desire to convince you otherwise. You cannot understand unless it comes from within you. nothing that anyone tells you will show you what you are asking for.

I don't know anyone who has ever claimed that God wrote the Bible. The OT, the Jewish law does claim that God himself wrote the law, and history tells us that the tablets were kept in the Arc of the Covenant. But the Bible is considered the 'inspired' word of God.

As to the references to 'Magic': You might look into the ancient Egyptian Hermetic teachings. Hermes or the Egyptian God Thoth was a contemporary with Abraham, and his teachings underlie the Egyptian mystery religion. Jesus was teaching the Egyptian mystery religion. He was initiated into the mystery school, and all but one of the Hermetic teachings is evident in the Bible. Transmutation, alchemy, magic, are all part of the foundation of the Hermetic teachings.

There are many ancient writings. One that is referenced by Jesus himself that didn't make the cut into the King James Bible is the Book of Solomon. Clearly people of his day read that book and knew what he was talking about when he referenced it. The King James Bible is a government document, it even has the King's name on it. It was designed to create a docile people who would honor the king and live by his rules. It shows how the law has morphed form the old violent religion of the OT, to the new Christian religion.

And don't even think about bringing up the US government in this. The US government, unlike others before it, is secular.

Since the Creator has no form or shape but is everywhere and at all times I doubt he had anything to do with the Old Testament and not much to do with the new. Man wrote the Bible just like he wrote the Dec of Ind and COTUS
