Name Women Alive or Deceased, That You Believe Would Have Been A Great President

That's fine. You have a right to your opinion on the matter. I could not disagree any more with that view, but that is my perogative as well. I see your opinion quite often in women these days. That's why I no longer hold doors for women, stop to help them on the side of the road, or anything else "chivalrous" in nature, unless I am well aware of their views and actions. If women no longer want to act like Ladies, they should not expect males to act like Gentlemen.

That's fine, I don't need a man to help me do anything for me. I am perfectly capable of opening a door, changing a tire, or finding help myself. Then again I am also courteous enough to hold doors for people, stop and ask if they need help, or anything else "courteous" in nature no matter their views. They might not need me either but atleast I tried to help them.

"Excuse me ma'am, I see you and your three children are in a broke down car in a -30 degree blizzard but before we go any further, do you support a woman president?"

"I don't see why not"

"Ok then, I'll just be on my way."

Common courtesy. It's not chivalry to hold open a door for anyone, or assist anyone. It's common. basic. courtesy.

What a shame that you will devalue yourself over perceived ideals.

I think Angela Merkel has done a good job for Germany

Sorry, where I come from courtesy is EARNED, not just given.

Generally you can tell by looking at the bumper stickers or the make & model of the car, so it's not quite that complicated.

As I noted above, where I come from courtesy, repect, etc.... are EARNED, not just handed out for showing up.

You are obviously confusing courtesy with respect. Both of which you have to give, to get.

I believe they go hand in hand. I feel no need to be courteous to an individual that I do not respect. Never have and never will.

Interesting. So I don't have bumper stickers but what does a mazda protege or chevy silverado tell you about me?

I'd be much more likely to stop and help someone driving the Silverado. Foreign car makers are totally out. Anyone who would buy a foreign car isn't someone I'm stopping to help.

And Margaret Thatcher was the longest serving Prime Minister of The United Kingdom in the 20th Century.

And let's not forget Hatshepsut, the first female Pharaoh of Egypt. Lived 1453 to 1478 BC.

Greetings, Lutherf. :2wave:

There's no changing the stripes of someone that bigoted, Americanwoman.

He apparently is all about what he feels are his idealized perceptions that people should be.

Does it matter where it was assembled?

I had expected that was going to be your next question....

No, it doesn't matter as much where it was assembled, though I did spend significant time searching to find a Chevy HHR that WAS built in this country before buying mine back in 2008. It would be nice to find one built in the USA, but the matter of greatest importance is where the PROFIT from the vehicle goes.... to an American company or a Foreign company.

If it was assembled here in the USof A, then purchasing one supports American workers.....

Jeane Kirkpatrick former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations was the first name that came to mind. Her's is a very interesting story, she went from being a socialist in her youth to a democrat and then finally becoming a Republican. Ronald Reagan asked Kirkpatrick (still a democrat at the time) to be in his cabinet because of what he saw in her as many virtues. Kirkpatrick while still a Democrat became disillusioned by the trend of the Democratic party as they leaned further to what she called "San Francisco democrats". She was pro union, pro Israel, and very much anti-communist. Even as a democrat she would be a great President, and she is what all democrats should still aspire to be in my opinion.

Some of Jean Kirkpatrick's quotes:

"When Marxist dictators shoot their way into power in Central America, the San Francisco Democrats don't blame the guerrillas and their Soviet allies. They blame United States policies of one hundred years ago. But then they always blame America first."

"Russia is playing chess, while we are playing Monopoly. The only question is whether they will checkmate us before we bankrupt them."

"Americans need to face the truth about themselves, no matter how pleasant it is.
"

American workers employed by a company that should not be allowed to do business inside the borders of the United States.

So being unemployed is better?

Do you purchase ONLY American made clothing? American grown food? American made textiles, appliances, and fuel?

No. However an Isolationist policy, which is what I philosophically prefer, puts those workers into jobs with AMERICAN companies producing AMERICAN automobiles for the AMERICAN market.

I go out of my way to try and purchase American made products as much as possible. Currently it's not really possible to be 100% American made, but my fiance and I do our best to buy American whenever possible. That's part of the reason why we don't have a computer at home currently.

I find completely ignoring the Tigger posts works best. It's not like you would be missing out on an opportunity to repond to something intelligent
... but you miss a lot of good laughs!

Hillary is exempt because of her status as a probable.

Tammy Duckworth, Illinois Democrat. Hell, I'd vote for her if I believed she was her own woman. I just worry that they're all puppets though.

Who suggested bullets.
I'd be all for seeing a nuclear weapon go off on The Mall in Washington, DC if a woman were ever elected POTUS.

A woman might be elected President of the USA in 2016.

I'll let you guess what her name is.

I don't see anyone in the GOP who is likely to defeat her.

I am well aware of both points you made, and I'm equally aware of her name. We will see what happens.

I would suggest several names that could defeat her..... a ticket of Mr Smith & Mr Wesson for example.

Jean Kirkpatrick. Condoleeza Rice. From a liberal side, I think Ferraro was a better candidate than Mondale and I think Ann Richards could have been a good president. Dont agree with a lot of her politics but she was feisty and knew how to work with both sides. Plus she cussed like a sailor...so she couldnt be all bad.

I would have to agree with the Condoleezza Rice choice, she seems to be as level headed as she is intelligent plus she has a pleasant dignity about her and dignity has been absent from the White House for a very long time.
