Something we almost hear nothing of in the Lame Street Media. I'm surprised that I don't even read of this on the press outlets from other countries.

At the edges of Southeast Asia sit countries with an Islamic minority. And each of them deal with this particular group in different ways. Thailand and the Philippines handle it one way. And Burma’s (Myanmar’s) Buddhist leaders have handled it in another fashion:

Brightly-coloured posters and stickers bearing the number “969″ are popping up in cities all over Burma. These look innocuous enough at first glance. However, “969” actually denotes an anti-Islam campaign led by hardliner Buddhist monks. Burmese Muslims say it has stirred up hatred and paranoia, resulting in a string of bloody anti-Muslim riots across the country over the past weeks.

How is this anti Muslim propaganda? Since when did telling someone that something is happening become propaganda? Are you deny the entire 969 thing is going on?

There's plenty of things going on in other countries that we don't hear about. Your point?

I'm surprised that I don't even read of this on the press outlets from other countries.

Interesting claim considering the blog post you provide links to a French website running the original article.

What this monk in Burma is doing is against Buddhist doctrine which accepts all religions and doesn’t look upon any religion as being bad. He is a radical Monk and is no better than those of Radical Islam. He is giving Buddhism a bad name.

Below is the Buddhist doctrine concerning other religions.

He becomes a monk in all the different religions of the world so that he might free others from delusion and save them from falling into false views.
Vimalakirti Sutra 8

The Buddha tells us that the great and wise person, the bodhisattva, does not have to be Buddhist. In fact, this wise person actually enters deeply into other religions, devoting his life to helping others through the means of those religions.

With Buddhism, the Buddhist doctrine in the end is not all that important. What matters is the following the path of being who we are. If we truly can do this, we can do it within the realm of Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Atheism, Judaism, Shinto, Confucianism, Animist, Sikhism, the list goes on. What matters is being compassionate and not clinging to the idea that we alone know the truth.

Can we be bodhisattvas and remain committed to other religions? In answer, let me ask another question: Do you think Mother Teresa was lacking something? You don’t do you? Neither does the Buddha.

STFU, about what you OBVIOUSLY know nothing of.

***

Buddhists won't survive, because they KNOW :
we're all going to die of something,
and just being born = death and decay.

The lifetime thang, the Living It, I'm not so sure about,
other than I believe that it encompasses the concept of ALL of life being in God's Hands,

but, ^that^ pretty much explains every religion.

I'm so sorry ~ I just Went OFF.

It's the things that I've been thinking about, lately, you know?
How it's TRUE that we're ALL going to die of something,
and how we have only our gods to trust in, regarding it being here and now,
or there, and later,

and how we STRUGGLE to get to the top,

when even the top will crumble and sink.

I've wEndered about the "human spirit" for some years ~

what IS it that makes us/US (i always do that, because i AM my country) strive ...

for ANYTHING?

Greed is pretty easy to understand, because we've all been hungry;

what ISN'T so easy to understand is the folks that give, of themselves, just to TRY to "help."

WTF does THAT come from?

I was a TERRIBLE person, a CRIMINAL that never got caught;

but even during those years, I was a loving person,
and once I finally "got it,"
I knew HOW to do what I was called to do.

WTF did any of all of ^THAT^ come from?

I'm content, knowing that I can't stop bad things from happening,
but also knowing that I can "be there,"
in whatever capacity (nurse/companion/secretary/caring person).

I'm a "libtard," 'cuz I WANT to try to understand and help;
I'm a "neo-con," 'cuz I want MY freedom to do what I want, with what I have.

To me? It's a coin.
There are two sides to it,
and balancing it upon it's edge is a very tricky proposition...

RANGOON—In the lead up to the foiled terrorist attack on the Burmese Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesian Islamic terrorist leader Abu Bakar Bashir warned of launching jihad—holy war—against Burma’s government over its treatment of Muslim minorities.

On Friday, hundreds of protestors belonging to radical Islamic groups also rallied at the embassy, with some calling for jihad against Burma.

Burmese Muslim groups said in a reaction that they “totally reject” calls for the use violence on their behalf, adding that terrorist actions would not help Burmese Muslims in any way.

Two suspected bomb plotters were arrested in central Jakarta on Thursday night and police later found five pipe bombs at their homes, the Associated Press reported. Police said the men, belonging to an unnamed terrorist cell, had planned to bomb the Burmese Embassy in retaliation for Burma’s treatment of Muslim Rohingyas. Dozens of police were later deployed to secure the embassy.

I don't "get it;"

what's the connection to my reply, or any replies, and/or the OP?

or are YOU straddling forums, also, and messing up posts, right and left, too?

I have 2 policies:

-Don't ignore blatant idiots, make fun of them every chance.
-Don't ignore people who ask me to ignore them.

A person can fit in one bracket, none or both. You're one of the special ones.

wut a shok

You QUOTED me? For what?
I won't see it unless someone quotes you,
and even then,
I'll probably just ignore the whole thing.

This isn't ...
well, yeah, I suppose it IS

me getting up in your face and saying NO.

I don't care what you have to say.

Please don't care what I might have to say, anymore?

We're now "even."
