Have you Noticed what's been happening in the Muslim world? Have you noticed that freedom/'Arab Spring' (aka Nuclear Winter for Christians) is bringing More Piety to the Arab world.

That's an interesting point and one I find hard to argue against. And if I had to speculate on it's origins, I would guess it's due to the all encompassing nature of islam. Correct me if I am wrong, but early jewish society was based on similar ideals, where law and social organization was derived from a system similar to islamic Jurisprudence (talmudic law)?

Naturally though, when you are living as a minority in foreign lands, it's hard to hold on to such ideals, while empire building would just work to reinforce them

PS my understand of the jewish religion is pretty limited, so forgive any mistakes
